My last upgrade before 196.21 was 191.07. I actually rolled it back to 191.07.

The difference between 186.86 and 191.07 was some actual performance increases in some games:

Also, with the 196.21, software overclocking was busted. Latest Nvidia drivers = fail.

EDIT: Btw, anyone looking to roll back:

Oh, I know there were some improvements in the 191.07 driver. Just the only ones they showed the improvement in that I own are Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 and I only recently started playing Fallout 3 again. :P I'll probably install the 191.07s soon, I just am taking a short break from Fallout 3.

Personally I've had zero issues with the new drivers. YMMV, of course. Then again, I've never had any issues with any drivers I've used and I've always updated to the newest upon release.

sounds like someone left their computer running all night and paid for leaving it running a intense 3d app 24-7 with improper cooling

I've had to "fix" more than one videocard where the fan does not have a shroud and dust has jammed the fan on teh videocard from spinning..

Good to know... Thanks for that link. I just installed the 196.21 drivers and they've behaved so far. I had the 191.07 before that and they were fine as well
