  1. Hey all, just wondering where I can go on the site to delete my account. I'm doing some online identity cleaning and would like every bit scrubbed from the servers. I don't see anything in the privacy policy regarding this an am unable to find a link anywhere in the account control panel. Thanks.
  2. I find these few apps very useful or fun: AIM, WiFinder, JellyCar, Cube Runner, tChess Lite, iTunes app for downloading podcasts while away from my machine, reMovem free (or paid), Google Earth is really killer and Stanza for ebook functionality.
  3. Hehe now i've started a GT vs GTS war. Personally I like the GT more from what I've seen. My reasoning for SLI was this: Me: hey do you want sli in this computer? friend: whats that? Me: ::Explains what sli is:: (all he hears is "2 cards running together") friend: yes. Past that... I guess to future-proof it? But to answer your question, no specific need for SLI. He wants to spend 1500-2500 which is way more than enough to build a solid machine in my opinion. I have narrowed the processor down to either Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115017 or Core 2 Duo E6850 Conroe 3.0GHz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115017 . I need some more recommendations for really good chipsets to buy a board based off of (i guess thats kinda how i shop) 965? X35? X38? isn't that N700 coming out soon or something? Does everyone really think the 900 is just that good? Edit: To s1ick: you are replacing the processor in the mini? i know it can be done but i dont know anyone who has the balls to actually do it. Tell me how that goes
  4. My friend is having me help him put together a gaming machine of substantial clout. He likes MMOs a lot -WoW-(mostly because that all he can really play on his current machine) but is about to delve into the more high end spectrum ala crysis and other newer games. A good idea is running everything by you pros here on the street. So far in the last hour I have come up with this small start, I need advice for everything. Case: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16811129021 Always wanted one of these myself. Power Supply: Something really meaty, like 750-1000 watt range I was thinking, any ideas? Motherboard: EVGA, ASUS, Gigabyte or DFI? whatever it is, must be LGA 775 Processor: Trying to decide if should just get a budget one and OC it, or not go with the hassle and get a solid intel one I don't have to play around with at all to get crazy clocks, suggestions? Memory: from what i understand you see diminishing returns at 4 gigs with most windows OSes and in games so.. i think 2 gigs is good for now. My jaw dropped when I saw how cheap DDR2 is these days so something like this would be good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820227198 why not when its so cheap. Video card(s): http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16814130318 2 of these in SLI. Optical drive(s): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16827106057 I have had really good luck with this brand before. HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136012 I have never bought one of these faster RPM drives before but I've seen the benchmarks and they look worth it, he doesn't have big storages needs. He already has a decent keyboard and a good LCD, any ideas for Mice?
  5. Hilarious commercial (not aired in the US): http://my.break.com/content/view.aspx?ContentID=394383 And awesome brits: http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1786427/
  6. Probably like $75 to $90 dollars at best.
  7. Yeah I was thinking about that, to buy all of this stuff off of ebay would be REALLY cheap compared to how much I payed 2 years ago, but thats technology! Had everything lined up and this kid BAILED on me at the last minute. Seems like people just aren't trustworthy anymore and this has happened to me on craigslist too. I'm still parting out the machine and selling most of it here at my campus. Even though it didnt amount to much in the end, thanks a bunch for all the input guys!
  8. Some Ultra ATX mid-tower piece of crap i got when i first built this machine and had no idea what i was doing AT ALL. Im buying this kid a new case too, but its just a 50 dollar one http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?...N82E16811119077 that ive used in a few builds for people and really like/ am used to.
  9. Wow thanks for all the speedy replies guys! Looks like I am giving him my copy of XP SP2 as well with the machine. You'll never guess what I am probably gonna buy with the money from this... ::cough::macmini::cough::. Could use even more input though, keep those posts coming!
  10. As a college student I am looking to get out of the computer enthusiast and gaming world for the time being for a number of reasons (still going to be around these forums though). I was looking to part out my machine and sell it but instead recieved an offer from a friend here on campus whos Dell is slowly crapping out and he wants a machine that will play BF2 and run xp. My question is how much I should be selling this for, he has offered me 700-800 dollars depending on what details we iron out. I feel uncertain about selling for this much because of how much money I have put into this thing over the years. Sans the 200 and 250 gig harddrives, the sound system, monitor, keyboard and mouse, how much money would you pay for the machine in my signature? Edit: computer at the time of this post NF4 Ultra-D 623-2 BIOS 3800+ X2 Toledo XFX 7900GT/Zalman VF900-CU OCZ 4x512 Gold BH5 @ 2-3-3-6 2T Hitachi 80 GB SATA/JBOD OCZ GameXStream 600W Saitek Eclipse keyboard Creative Audigy Soundblaster SE Logitech Z-2300 2.1 speakers Samsung 206BW 20"
  11. This game is super famous, I even saw it reviewed in WIRED magazine (9/10). I once beat it on medium.
  12. Yeah ive never had any luck with that or any other similar commands in game.
  13. uTorrent (pronouced "micro" torrent) is the best for windows in my opinion --http://www.utorrent.com/ and on the OSX side I use Transmission -- http://transmission.m0k.org/
  14. Well did you see this? http://halo3.com/believe/shell.html One of the best things ive ever seen online, marketing or otherwise. The music is Prelude in D Flat by Chopin for those wondering.
  15. Hate to rain on the parade but... this should be taken into consideration: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum...pic.php?t=11658
