Black64 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 (edited) So this year I am gonna upgrade my GPU's, my current setup is as follows 1x 6950, runs 2 NEC monitors @ 1920x1200 1x 6570, runs 1 NEC monitor @ 1920x1200 and my TV @1920x1080 I would like to run all 3 NEC monitors off my main card (for gaming) and my TV doesn't need much power so really any card will do. So far I am thinking of these setups, with the first being my top choice so far. 1. GTX 590 and GTX 550 2. 2x GTX 580 3. GTX 670 and GTX 650 any ideas or thoughts? d6bmg Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) 2x 7950? Unbeatable by any other combo. Otherwise, a GTX670 or anything from GTX680 4GB variants. Edited April 25, 2013 by d6bmg

Yep, with two high power GPUs....2GB is no longer an option as it will hold back the maximum performance of the pair
Black64 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 sorry guys, I forgot to mention that I want to switch over to Nvidia, so no 6950 or 6970s. (I forgot to edit the first post when I made it) Also I can get a 590 for slightly cheaper then a 670 and power and heat don't concern me, would a 590 and 580 be better then 2 670? (the 590 and 580 would be 100-200 cheaper) Also does a 590 have SLI issues on it's own?
IVIYTH0S Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 (edited) I'm afraid I'm of no help, nothing against nvidia but they're not touching AMD in that price point. You're guaranteed to be bit in the ass by the 1.5GB limitation of the 590 (or even the 2GB limitation on a normal 670) Why do you think I had to switch from the 5970?? It had plenty of raw power but the 1GB gimped the hell out of it Edited April 25, 2013 by IVIYTH0S
