  1. Happy Birthday Panda ! I was 25 once, well actually twice now !
  2. Its true that antifreeze raises the boiling point of water but on a automotive engine you want it to run hot to some degree without overheating. i used to have a 67 Camaro with a built small block when i lived in the california desert ( had a 160 degree thermostat so it NEVER reached over 200 degrees), i can personally attest to the fact that the engine ran cooler with plain tap water in it than with antifreeze
  3. I bought some stuff from them before (some thermal paste, fans, and NB heatsinks) ..good products, good service...never had a problem with them
  4. Im not much of a tv series watcher, but this one i have watched from the very beginning and to date i have not missed an episode. I totally enjoy this show !!!
  5. maybe you could measure the size of the housing and go from there?
  6. Ive got a RAT 5, and as far as mice go its a really nice mouse, but its not without its problems. Its HIGHLY stactic sensitive, just walking across the carpet and touching it will cause it to stop working and it has to be unplugged and replugged back in to make it work. Actually once i was using it and my cat rubbed against my leg and it quit. The first one I had finally bit the dust after being shocked too many times im guessing (actually shocked is kind of a harsh description, i never felt a shock or saw a spark) RMAd it and they sent me a new one. It acted the same way however ive now got the side screws insulated with scotch tape and have not had a problem with it since. The RAT9, being wireless, might not have the same kind of static problem being as its not grounded, but i just thought id let you know of my experince. Other than the static thing, its a great mouse, the glides work great and its perfectly adjustable (and it looks cool too) and feels great in the hand.
  7. Ive been using that for quite some time now and have had pretty good success with it. Its amazing how many people will give you a password protected machine for repair or virus removal and neglect to give you the password...
  8. Not trying to step on anyones toes , but assuming hes running a stock bclk of 133 and sets his multi at 27, would only yield a OC of 3.6 To get a OC of 4.0 (3.99 to be exact) the multi will have to be 30(with the stock bclk@133) and a Vcore of 1.27-1.28 should be just enough to be stable.
  9. Yeah sorry bout the lack of info, im not a seious gamer, i play some flight sims games thats about it. I do alot of vid editing though . Heres my system as it stands now: Cooler Master HAF 922 Case Asus P6x58d Premium Motherboard Intel Core i7 975 Extreme Processor (OCed @ 4GHZ) 4 Crucial 1GB DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory (OCed @ 1600 MHZ) Sapphire 100274HDMI ATI Radeon HD 4350 1GB 64-bit DDR2 video card Seagate Barricuda 500G Harddrive X2 (Data storage and Temp Working) Western Digital 320G Harddrive (Dedicated Pagefile) Western Digital Velociraptor 300G Harddrive (OS) 2 Sony Optiarc DVD drives (one with Lightscribe) Sabrent memory card reader Corsair TX850w Powersupply Thermaltake Frio CPU cooler w/2 120mm fans 200mm front intake fan 200mm top exhaust fan 2X 120mm 2000 rpm side intake fans 120mm 2000 rpm rear exhaust fan 120mm 3000 rpm bottom intake fan 120mm 1500 rpm HD cage fan 40 cfm Foxcon PCI slot exhaust fan And im running a CRT and windows XP32 bit Pro For the most part the card i presently have suited my purpose except i lost my HDMI output for my TV (sony LCD) so i was looking to upgrade It is imperative that i have both dsub out and Hdmi, and i realize that i can use adapters but the space in my desk does not really allow me the room for them, my Pc case is already hanging forward off the shelf, and i have relocated the front feet back as far as possible to keep them on the shelf
  10. Hi guys, Im in the market for a nev vid card and decided to go nvida this time, could you guys look at this and let me know which of these is the best please? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%2050001315%20600030348%204017&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&CompareItemList=48%7C14-121-434%5E14-121-434-TS%2C14-121-415%5E14-121-415-TS%2C14-121-435%5E14-121-435-TS%2C14-121-423%5E14-121-423-TS Thanks
  11. Thanks guys for the input and tips. Assembly went well and its up and running. The stock intel HS is going to have to go though...runs way to hot for my liking. 45-50 idle, 60 during minor loads very quickly. I used the EZ overclock option in the bios for a 10% OC so the 2.8 gig is now at 3.1 gig. Havent stress tested yet cause of the temps, but so far no crashes or bluescreens. And those IDE cables....they look absolutely hidious in the clear case ! Going to have to do somthing with them too. But for the most part im happy, got a total out of pocket cost of $34 (for the powersupply) in my "frankenstein"...The rest was all donor parts and gimmes
  12. Have you tried switching IDE ports and cables?
  13. OK so someone gave me a pc case , one of those clear acrylic ones ( http://www.xoxide.com/xopacl2.html ), so i decided to put a pc together out of some spare parts i have laying around, ive got an old asus p5p800 se mobo, some ddr400 ram , a pentium d 820 cpu and a coolermaster 500 watt powersupply. So i install the cpu to the motherboard, paste it and install a stock intel cooler. Then i go about intalling the mobo. Grounding strap on, i look for a place to connect it....Theres nothing grounded on this case...any where. It had never even dawned on me before. The mobos not grounded. the standoff screws go throught the case, so if i shock one of those, itll go straight to the mobo without being shorted to ground. Once its assembled, you can touch the standoff screws from the outside of the case. Is this somthing i should be concered with ? Or am i being overly paranoid? Has anyone ever run one of these cases?
  14. does the machine (the gateway) have an operating system installed right now? heres why im asking... just because your other pcs are recognizing the cds you burned doesnt mean they are in fact bootable. Have you confirmed that they are infact bootable? I had a lot of trouble my self when i was first learning how to burn ISOs. You can copy all the files off of a bootable cd and burn it to a cd, but if its not in proper ISO format, it wont boot from it . Maybe somthing worth checking:)
