Heatsink fiting problems!
caelum replied to Point Blank's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
Thermalright XP90-C, + a low speed fan would be my choice... or if weight is a little too worrying, get the non-C version of that... cheaper, lighter, and performs only a few degrees warmer. -
Motherboard fan on DFI Lanparty NF3 Ultra-D is broken
caelum replied to Samuz's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
NB huh? must be a rare breed of 64 bit AMD that required a NB. -
Lanparty UT 250Gb owners needed
caelum replied to avalanche83's topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
odd.. on system defaul volt's, i'm able to boot into windows at a HTT of 315+ cpu isn't exactly stable at that(sig), but it'll boot... -
Crucial 1024MB of DDR in DFI nF3 250GGb
caelum posted a topic in Processors, Motherboards and Memory
anyone about that has a 2GB kit of Crucial DDR running in the 250Gb? i'm looking at buying a pair myself, and just wanted to be 99% sure before i do... cheers folks! -
just incase the filename wasn't enough to tell you what it was....

cpc - i asked the same thing a few days ago... command per clock - ie. 1T, or 2T... now you remember right? i know i did as soon as i was reminded Caelum.

less of a performance hit than running a virtual machine out of virtual memory
-
i need the same really, why 3GB? you try running 2 or 3 virtual machines(VM Ware), when you've got win2K3 server, WinXP, and say a unix machine or two running at the same time Caelum.
-
yep, that looks it might be the trick... then i'll see if it'll happily work with the current stick(in sig) at the same time, if it does, i'll try for 3GB, maybe cpc - yep, should have known that she's happily going along at 1T now, see how far i can push it i guess, thats what this board is made for isn't it?! worth a shot! Thanks guys Caelum.
-
that was the other thing too... cpc was disabled? this is where i ask what cpc is? cheers Caelum.

the main reasoning for the upgrade to (atleast) 2GB of ram is due to the fact that i'll be running virtual machines on my system, and i'd like to be able to give it atleast 1GB of ram, as i'll be running Win2K3 server etc on it as a test platform for work. as far as having all 3 dimms filled, and it defaulting to DDR333, it shouldn't be much of an issue to change the RAM ratio so she's back up to running at DDR400(or more) should it? i'm not using the default settings anyway(who would on this board?!) not worth my time with all 3 dimms filled? why's that? as long as it works, and there isn't a performance(or reliability) hit, i'm happy... why doesn't it like having all 6 banks filled? any more info on this, or just a rumor that never stopped circulating? thanks folks Caelum.

From the DFI Website: # Supports up to 3GB memory when using DDR333 Supports up to 2GB memory when using DDR400 # Supports PC2700 (DDR333) and PC3200 (DDR400) DDR SDRAM DIMM # Supports x8/x16, non-ECC, up to 512Mb DDR devices how is it possible to have 2GB of ddr400, if the max 'device' size is 512MB? the board only has 3 dimm slots... do DFI define 'device' as one side of a dimm? that would give you your 3GB for ddr333.. only reason i'm asking is that i'm looking at getting some 1024MB ram modules to replace the current ones in my system, and i dont wanna go buying a few of them and then find out my mobo doesn't like them Thanks to everyone who replies Caelum.
