  1. What have you got your black edition OC'd to?
  2. What's the best indication that you've overclooked your GPU too much?
  3. Ok the problem seems simple but i can't get it. Sometimes the computer turn on and other times it won't. I have a 550W power supply power quadcore and a GTX 260 black edition. So from that i can kinder guess it might lack power but i'm not sure. The times it does turn on and try to change the bios settings and all as soon as resets it won't turn back on, well it turns on but just doesn't display anything. So i'm not sure if it's lack of power or some other related issue, but the computer is put together neatly without anything missing or incorrectly placed. Please urgent help and if have had the same problem please give me some advice.
  4. Just remember that I'm from Australia and $90 isn't as much it's only like $59US or something
  5. Alright well I'm choosing between DRR3 and DRR2 and i'll be running the DRR2 at 1200 and the DRR3 at 1600, it's going to cost me an extra AU$90. But will the performance be that noticable and i'll also be getting WI-FI with the motherboard so better RAM, better motherboard, Wi-Fi and it's AU$90 more, worth it?
  6. nup it's custom and it's a friends of mine motherboard, my p5q-deluxe worked fine but his doesnt and the update didn't work so im not sure.
  7. When i say it's locked, i mean that i can go throughh certain settings but i can't change the multiplier, FSB etc.
  8. Urgent help!!! How do i unlock the BIOS settings on the Asus P5Q?? I heard that there is an update to unlock it, but i can't find it anywhere. Please quick replies it's pretty urget. Thanks for the help.
  9. ok it's DRR2 1066 and yeah i'll be operating 64-bit vista C2Q.
  10. well i have some high end RAM to choose from i'm not sure whether it is better to have 1x4Gb or 2x2GB RAM. They both have the same specs so no different other than size. Any answers as to what is better? Thanks

    First Custom

My first custom computer which is a slow process
  12. yeah that's exactly what i mean like it wouldn't harm to try right? And with the fan ontop would work even better so: heat>heatsink>silicon>fan
  13. Thanks heaps for the advice but could explain this to me?
  14. OK i was extremely bored in class today and i noticed that my pen had rubber silicon in the grip so took it out and put it on the power supply for my laptop. 10mins later i remember i put it there and took it off, then i noticed where i had it the power supply was cool instead of its usual extremely hot self. Also i noticed the silicon was hot and had absorbed the heat from the power supply. So then i thought that maybe if i bought some silicon rubber and put it on the heat sinks on my motherboard, it would absorb the heat from the sink. Then to top it, i could place a small fan on the silicon which will keep the silicon cool which lets it the sink absorb more heat and let the silicon absorb more heat and keep cool. Does this sound it would work? A new revenue of cooling
  15. OK now considering i have already bought my power supply i hope you guys can tell me me if it's sufficient to the computer I'm building. It's a Thermaltake TR2 RX-550W with cable management which i hope is enough power for the following parts list: Intel C2Q 2.82Mhz 1333FSB 4x1GB Kingston Hyperx 1066Mhz DDR2 RAM ASUS P5Q-DELUXE P45 FSB1600 1200DDR2 PCIE ATX Motherboard SATA II 750GB Samsung 7200RPM 32MB cache Galaxy GeForce 9600GT 1GB 256Bit DDR3 PCI-X HDMI Video Card Acer P244WB - 24" Widescreen LCD . Black, 2ms GTG, 1920x1080, 20,000:1, VGA / Analogue / HDMI x 2 Undecided 20x DVDRW or Blueray not too sure yet So anyway that's the list and being the inexperienced person i am i didn't get a lot of advice on my PSU but i was told it is sufficient. Also if there is any part there you wouldn't suggest but think i should get another, that would be good too, but keep in mind i have a budget so nothing too extravagant. Thanks for the support.
