  1. HI i am in Bangalore India and have same issues as you.I have a corsair 650tx PSU running the config below pretty smooth but i have an APC 1100VA UPS http://www.apc.com/products/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=BX1100CI-RS backing up and can take around half hour on full load enough time to save things and shut down . Invest in a good UPS you'll do fine !!
  2. this one works for sure http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1722630/intel-god-quick-dirty-guide-4ghz-haswell.html for 4.4 ghz for 4.6 ghz
  3. it will depend on the ambient temperature of the room in which your pc is.IF there's good air conditioning to keep room temps. low .Also a good thermal paste combined with a stock cooler can also lower the temperature by a few degrees.Apply the paste every 3-4 months you should be able to have it below 50c on normal load.
  4. i agree with wevsspot. The only components that will matter most are a good graphics card and ram and you've already made a good choice with the 760 and 8 gb gskill. its best to have local support for cpu and motherboard .
  5. Some thoughts for consideration are you going to be doing SLI? IF not then why not just go for the MSI Z87-G43 gaming it has all the features from the G45 and GD65 barring the cooling pipe and decent overcolcking features with the OC genie 4 plus you'll save atleast 10 pounds more. This board has all the USB ports you'll ever need .I don't understand why people go crazy over no. of usb ports!! Chck it out and do a comparison http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-G43-GAMING.html#overview
  6. i was also about to go for either a 4670k/4770k until i realized the missing VT features i have also read in other forums that the esxi server hangs in in the k series haswell processors.I just wanted to know what combo you have finally bought is it same as you mentioned and are your VM softwares working fine ?Also is the lack of hyperthreading in 4670 causing problems in handling multiple VM's?
  7. hey guys thanks for the feedback i got my replacement H80i from corsair now awaiting the check to arrive.I have to admit i was totally blindsided by the lack of hyperthreading in the new i5's doesn't make sense. I compared the spec sheet http://ark.intel.com/compare/75123,75122,75048,75047 and now one thing is for sure that i need an unlocked 4670k or 4770k proccessor. But besides gaming i also run simulation softwares which might be affected by lack of hyperthreading in the i5 . Let's see might have to wipe the dust out of that old visa card .
  8. i agree with you guys what i forgot to mention was that i had had a corsair H80 cooler that leaked a few months back and blew my processor, motherboard and graphics card. So as compensation i am getting a new H80i and 600$ from corsair.Hence the need to upgrade .As u can see the last time i upgraded there used to be triple channel motherboards and now there are dual channel motherboards. I am thinking across the lines of maybe an intel i5 4670k and an nvidia 650 TI OC but i am really confused about the motherboard because i ran my 6gb ram @ 1600mhz on triple channel but they don't make em anymore. So really the confusion is regarding the motherboard or maybe a better combo for the three components if you have in mind!!
  9. i am looking to upgrade my proccesssor. motherboard and graphics card in under 650 $ .i am on a budget any reccomendations ???
  10. ur configuration looks fine just choose a good PSU to go with that .check out corsair TX or HX(modular) series. An 850 W should do you fine since u are talking liquid cooling. what about graphics card?
  11. go for the gigabyte GA EX-58 UD-7 A or UD-5A if ur looking for future proofing ur system(and have the cash). It has usb 3.0 and supports sata 6 gb/sec interfaces as well as well as good overclocking options im myself using the UD-5 since i couldn't affort the UD-7. You can check its features here http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Mother...?ProductID=3304. As for RAM i can definitely recommend the corsair DDR3 1600 C9 (9-9-9-24) 3x2 GB kit works like a peach and plus the amazing lifetime warranty.
  12. well the best deal for u would be the ipod new nano 8 gb for $149 and the new one has camera(.h264) and a radio(with pause) as compared to the new ipod touch 8 gb which will set u back by $199 and doesn't have the above mentioned features.Depends on what u're using it for,if u want big screen with tons of games and apps like pdf readers and videos ipod touch is the way to go!!.but for ur budget ipod nano is best buy.
  13. I'd have to say the IE tab extension for chrome is the best add-on for me .This was my main grouse with chrome because it had compatibility issues with sites that played streaming channels whose players only supported IE.But with the IE extension that's resolved and is working quite seamlessly.Haven't checkout the rss reader extension though!should be good.
