Bosco Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Today Mike takes a look at ADATA's SX300 128GB mSATA SSD: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/adata_sx300_128/
d6bmg Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Looks good. The newer board shave msata, but not any z68 boards and the lone z77 board that I use. And above all it is a good pricing offered by adata.

dr_bowtie Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 a lot of laptops and netbooks have them....
Stonerboy779 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I am looking at the crucial m4 256GB mSATA SSD as a boot drive in my next laptop. If I can raid the mSATA SSD with the other SATA SSDs then I will be putting in a further 3 256GB M4s in RAID 0. That's only if the mSATA and Open drive replaced with HDD caddy play nice. Here is hoping though.
Waco Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 A quad drive RAID 0 array in a laptop? You're brave.
bp9801 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 A quad drive RAID 0 array in a laptop? You're insane. FTFY. Neat little mSATA SSD. May have to check out if it'll work in my laptop.

Got to admit though it would be pretty damn beast haha also benifit of not having seperate drives showing instead just 1TB of awesomeness. Naturally this would be backed up regularly to a 1TB USB 3.0 HDD
d6bmg Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) My Z68 board has an mSATA slot as do a lot of boards... Sadly I've z68-v pro, maximux4 extreme-z, z68a-gd65 and z77 extreme6. None of them have m-sata. :-( Edited October 17, 2012 by d6bmg

Stonerboy779 Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Insane or what? Good luck with that. Well from my googling it seems that it may possibly be all okay as it goes back to the SATA host which would possibly let me put it into RAID with the two SATA 3 SSDs. As to whether the op drive converted with a HDD caddy is also SATA 3 or SATA 2, I do not know but there may just be a chance to run it. 4 SSDs (3 SATA and one mSATA) in RAID 0. Anyway back on topic. Is there any more mSATA reviews on the horizon? They are very lacking, would also be nice if someone could attempt to RAID the mSATA port with normal SATA ports. Another nice review Mike
