  1. Silly question and I may of missed it, does it now take up 3 slots?
  2. That is really odd, I used to have the same CPU/HS a while back and had a fairly good OC on it and never saw temp issues. What kind of temps are you seeing? Also, what kind of voltage is being sent through the CPU?
  3. Anyone seen reviews for non-reference PCB models (I do believe Gigabyte has one out)? I am curious as to the differences if any. Nevermind, found one: http://vr-zone.com/articles/gigabyte-gtx-670-oc-windforce-3x-2gb-review/15831.html
  4. I had used AS5 until I moved to Brazil. The highest quality I can get here is Thermaltake's TG1 and I have to say I really like it. I used it on my new 3820 build and it spread nice and smooth and provides great temps while OC'D with a Corsair A70. I threw some on my reference 5850 (I had AS5 on) just to see and dropped a solid 2C in Furmark.
  5. This guide was a great start for my OCing of my 3820. I think I snagged myself a very good 3820. I only built the system yesterday, so I am still testing and tweaking, but the tests I have run so far (IBT/LinX) I have yet to pass 65c with a A70 for cooling. This is at a touch over 1.3v on an x79-UD3. I've read that I should keep the temps under the 70-75c range (much like my old Q9550) and voltage under 1.4 for CPU http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2352640
  6. All current wireless routers transmit @ 2.4GHz, the same as many wireless phones/cellphones, interference is fairly common. The only versions that are immune are 802.11a and 802.11n (802.11n can work at 5GHz as well as 2.4GHz.) A is/was rarely used as it has a shorter range (50m vs 100m) compared to 802.11b/g. So it sounds like your phone is just messing with your router, one of the two has to go to solve the issue. Source: CompTIA A+ Comprehensive Guide
  7. Seeing the old hardware is half of the fun, the other half is seeing it still working.
  8. I've only ever seen single color extensions, my best guess would be e-mail FrozenCPU or someone similar who does PSU sleeving and see if they will work something out with you. As far as sleeving goes, it took me forever to get the staple trick down (much cheaper than breaking tools!) But once I figured it out it was a snap. My cheat was using pliers to push down the staples, much less bending and much easier to apply the needed force.
  9. Last I heard (I'll have to find a link, but it was from a beta-tester/FSX add-on reviewer), Microsoft was planning to control all add-ons for Flight, so no . And those of us familiar with FSX and earlier know that is effectively killing the product before it launches. The strength of FSX is it's add-ons, and many of the (quality) producers IRIS/A2A/VRS have said under the current plan, they will not produce add-ons for Flight.
  10. Personally, I think it's terrible, mostly because it's very VERY arcade feeling. I do realize it's not a replacement for FSX...so I'll keep using it along with quality add-ons and other sims like DCS in the mean time.
  11. In the languages I learned in my CS degree (Python/Jython, Java and C along with different levels of html up to XHTML) I found Java to be second easiest to Python. But a lot of it will boil down to who you have teaching as always, a bad professor can make an easy language hard, and vice versa.
  12. I bought the wife an ice cream just because she knew about the holiday and would hold me responsible, we are both looking forward to carnaval this weekend though, so we don't pay much attention to v-day.
  13. You need to enable your dump folder: To Enable Minidumps: Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter. Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery > Settings... button. Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked. Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies). Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump. OK your way out. Reboot if changes have been made. And then you will have access to dumps after your next BSOD, also if it hands long enough, write down the error codes. Not much to recommend without further information.
  14. Except for that whole Kosovo/Yugoslavia thing.
  15. I got some Engrish swim trunks today, they say "Octopussy" pics to follow. :D
