Also saw a several complaints of them failing within a year from the quick search I did. +1 on this, not sure how it would affect smaller apps but for photo editing and video encoding programs a 7200 rpm with a 32 or 64 mb cache would speed it up quite a bit and a ssd would really make a difference. .
