  1. Good to hear lol. My old rig that i'm using now is running a Phenom II 940 x4 BE, GTX 260, and a 1600x900 monitor, so hoping to see a huge jump in performance.
  2. Hi all, Just bought all the parts for my new pc and plan on building this week! Was going to get a 280x/770 but Nvidias price drop was too tempting for me. The free games and lack of R9 290X around also factored in. Will likely grab a second 780 in the future but since I game at 1080p single monitor that won't be for awhile hopefully. Did I do good with this build? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1WCMS
  3. So I am building a new PC and have everything picked out ready to buy except for the GPU. So far I have two picked out at each $350 USD. The R9 280X Sapphire Toxic and the EVGA GTX 770 ACX Superclocked. My processor is a 4670K, with a Gigabyte UD3H mobo, and Seasonic 850w PSU (future SLI/Xfire). I will be gaming on a single 1080p monitor with maybe a second monitor down the road for browsing/multitasking. My main concern is if the 2GB in the 770 is going to be ample for future (Witcher 3) 1080p gaming, and if the Toxic is quiet and cool (not a jet engine/space heater). Thanks. Which one would you get?
  4. I'll have to check it out. On a different note I've been looking at other GPUs to drive a 1440p monitor and I was wondering what peoples opinion on crossfire is after 13.10 beta? Seems like for the price of a 780, I could get a 7970 and 7950 and crossfire them.
  5. Cool thanks. Think I will likely get an X star or QNIX. They seem awesomely priced on amazon.
  6. Is there a particular brand I should look for?
  7. Thanks for the response! I honestly didn't even consider selling down the road, although that may be the best option with Maxwell and even the new AMD's coming. Do you think a 650W would be able to deal with any future cards, or should I go a little higher? As far as the mobo, I am a little hesitant to trim from there as the Hero is definitely high quality. I also looked at cheaper boards like the MSI G45/GD65, Asus Pro, and ASRock Extreme4/6 but I couldn't decide one over the other lol. Thanks again.
  8. Hello Overclockers! Having just joined I would like to say hi before I ask about my build. I will be using this build for primarily gaming, movie watching, and web browsing. Please let me know if I can save some money without sacrificing quality or performance. Hoping this build will be able to slay Witcher 3 and Battlefield 4 on max settings. I put the 850w power supply in because I plan on doing sli when this build starts to wane on performance. Plan on overclocking the CPU to around 4.0-4.2, nothing serious. Probably will leave the GPU as is. Just going to use my Sidewinder X6 keyboard and X5 mouse since I am so used to them and like them. Thank you.
