Hey guys/gals...................

I've spent the last week sanding, smoothing, color coating and clear coating my LianLi Lancool K62 case to reflect a Star Wars Storm Trooper theme (inspired by the white & black NZXT Phantom case). My kids/grandkids thought it would be a cool project so I thought what the heck.

I'd like to know what you guys think about a go forward plan. I have two options;

1. Stop right here and call it good

2. Go ahead and paint the side panels white

I'd appreciate your input. Final choice will be determined by your vote.

And here is how the case originally looked;

Have you considered possibly doing some etched side panel to the computer? I think it'd really emphasize the case that you're building. Otherwise, it looks superb from my POV. Here is one place i found that may help if you're interested. Oh, and I would paint the side.

Maybe put something like this:

I tell you guys. If I had known how much time and patience this was going to take when I started I might have just bought a new case to begin with smile.gif

The big challenge after 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint and then two final clear coats was getting all the parts to fit back together. The tolerances on the case are pretty tight and off course all that paint build up didn't help that at all. Lots of hand work with a file and sand paper to get everything mated back up correctly.

I still need to finish wet sand the final clearcoat and then buff it out. Pretty much should be a mirror finish after that - although white doesn't show off the handi-work so well............

Keep the votes coming.
