pkilway Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) Update. After a few days of frustrating blue screens of death, on a hunch I took out one set of my RAM (2 sticks). Then install completed without a hitch. Not sure it it was a mobo, windows or compatibility issue. But I'm back up and running. I think it I could have restored my bios to defaults on the first blue screen. I KNOW that I've used 4 sticks for the last few years, I must have overvolted them for them to run correctly and just forgot about it. So this begs the question, how much of a performance difference is there from going from 8Gb of RAM to 16Gb? d6bmg Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 So this begs the question, how much of a performance difference is there from going from 8Gb of RAM to 16Gb? In most of the cases - no. Unless currently you are using >90% of installed memory.
