Dear all, I have two boards in my house: extreme vi and formula vi. I have read many reviews on both. I really cannot decide which one to choose. I have one week to take one of both. I have an asus xonar Phoebus sound card and sapphire 7970. I am not a gamer but I like to play games. I am interested more in tweaking. I have heard about the battery problem on the formula vi. Please can any one help me to decide which one to choose? Thx in advance

Sorry Lab it is sapphire hd 7970 (::::momental relapse of memory) ..Still for the rams that I have ..they are Kingston 1600 4x4 GB..For OC do I need to upgrade? and shall I go for corsair or G-skill or Kingston hyper x 2400...I mean which is better for my mother board.Sorry and thx again for ur precious help

You have UP7. Then forget about buying other boards.. It's a very good board. Talking about the GPU part, do you really have HD8970? And get 2x 8GB of 2400MHz RAM if you really insist. But remember than performance difference between anyRAMm clocking 1866MHz or above is practically negligible. thx for reliving me concerning the mobo.Yes I have HD 8970 Sapphire. Is it a wow or the GtX 680. My query about the rams is bec mine is 1600 so are they overclockable ?and better to use 2x8 kit or 4x4 kit to fill all the ram slots? And which type is better corsair or G-Skill or kingstone?

Hi dear friends and fans and experts. I need your opinion because I feel little sad and need your help. I have been always a gigabyte fan because in Egypt the technical support is faster than other MOBOS supporters even if after the one year warranty expires, they still can help you for little money. I have bought the new Gigabyte z77x-UP7.It is a very good board for the previous reasons, but then I saw the poll here about the Asus V Formula and V Extreme. I still have the chance for an exchange. I will lose some money though. Shall I change or not is really the Asus better than mine. I intend to learn how to overclock. Is there that much difference between the two mobos that makes me change. I really need your unbiased help and advice. Thanks to all who will help me . I am not a ROG..I mean no a gamer, but I want to be. I have an ATI SAPPHIRE 8970 .So I also want to know about the best rams for my UP7 .I will install 16 GB of Rams .So shall I go for G-skill or Corsair? 8 x 2 or 4 x 4 Kits and for OC 2400 0r 2666? I have now 4x4 Kingston 16 GB 1600. Also what is the best external Audio card for me Creative or XFI and which Model. Thx ccokeman for ur help 1.Is the Bios of the Asus' mentioned above MOBOS better than the Gigabyte z77 that I have? And how or in what? 2.Can I still do with the DIMMS on my Giga. like the Asus? 3. I know that the formula comes with an external sound card, what is its name? Can I buy it separately and connect it to my Gigabyte z77.And concerning the sound, the built in sound in my board is good as in the Asus? Thx in advance for helping me
