Building a new rig for a friend

I've got an 1150 build on PCPartPicker.com (http://goo.gl/EC8Ff5) but I really don't think I need to go with such new hardware.

His budget is ~$900 and I was originally thinking of going 1150 just to futureproof his build, but in hindsight not only would he not know the difference (not being rude, I just mean in terms of performance) but I doubt he is going to ever have the desire or the ability (new socket by that point most likely) to upgrade to a new CPU.

So with that being said, would you guys recommend an 1150 build anyways or going with a 1155/2011 build knowing he'll never be upgrading his CPU?

Also the GPU is just temporary for now, I plan on getting one of the AMD R7/R9 GPUs or one of the new Nvidia cards if they're out by the time he wants this build done.

Huh, is it a mistake or does he already have a HDD? Your build does not suggests any, so you might be a bit off with that.

That EVGA 500W B power supply,, is not one of the best. Transient voltages are all around the place, and crossload testing

(starting or OCCT, by example) the 5V goes below ATX minimum.

He has a 1TB and 2TB drive that are going in this build. Also, I think I'm going to try to drop an SSD in there too if I can find a decent one at a good price.

I haven't really checked all the reviews on this particular PSU, but for its price it is quite recommend.

As per here:

That build on PCPartPickers.com is just preliminary anyways. I'm sure in the meantime I'll come across better deals and it was basically just a showcase to show him what he could get for approximately $800-$900.

its hard to hit the $900 mark. The best I could do was 1,100 with 2011 or 1150.  I would suggest buying whatever you can used and save money.

I have a Asus Gene IV 2011 laying around if you want it cheap.

I plan on looking around, like I said that build I posted above was just to show him roundabout what he could get for that money.

If you want to get rid of it for about ~$100 then I'll snatch it up. :P

Though that is socket 2011 and I'd ideally like to stick with AT LEAST 1155.

I wouldn't do it, 2011 CPUs are much more expensive
