TUF Thermal Armor?

Recommended Posts

Hey there guys, it's me again..

So we've seen many Z77 boards unveiled in CeBIT and 1 board struck my interest, the ASUS TUF Sabertooth Z77, more specifically, it's Thermal Armor..

I've read reviews of the past Sabertooth P67 and there seems to be not much of a difference with or without the thermal armor back then. Now ASUS have redesigned it so that it also takes in air from the back and directs it over the VRM areas..

My Question is, would the directed airflow over the VRM areas be effective? In the sense that it would help give them a better tolerance and whatnot?

I Hope that this isn't too much of a 'stupid question' but I'm genuinely interested in the effectiveness of the Thermal Armor.. Could help make my decision on a new IB rig.

Thanks

Looks like it'll work to me. Direct cooling of the VRMs is something that boards should have had for years.

Yes! I needed to add a waterblock to my VRM's to keep then from melting
