I may be turning 2 of the 7970s off soon till winter, its been 100+f here daily but they run pretty cool compared to the gtx 570s... The computer room is about 3 feet from the thermostat so the rest of the house was ice cold while I sweated my nuts off with two rigs running. I hear you, the room my folding rigs are in is always a lot hotter (about 10-20deg F) then the rest of the house even with an exhaust fan running 24/7.
