  1. I just started my build yesterday, I then turned on my system and everything seemed fine, however the case fans did not turn on at all. The fans are all plugged into the controller that is built into the case and the molex for the fan controller is plugged up to the psu. The molex connector from the fan controller only has three pins in it. Is it missing a pin? or is the fan controller just... dead. is there something im missing here?
  2. is there a fairly good wifi card that has Bluetooth built in?
  3. I totally agree with the dedicated sound card card. i have a Logitech 5.1 surround sound stereo system and an Afterglow Surround sound HD Headset, so i personally like HD sound quality.
  4. Ok im sorry im confused... what does OP mean???? operator? lol. I chose that particular sound card for the fact that it had that front 5.25" bay header, and i thought that would be really usefull. so i guess if its not needed i wont get a sound card and may in fact just get another SSD. The only reason i was going to do WC before was beacause i had picked out that ASUS maximus formula V ROG board, which had Fusion cooling on it. But it is so expensive to do WC im just going with h100i now, and am probably forgetting WC altogether now. so would i really even need a sound card? what does it do compared to sound exerted from the motherboard? and im sorry about the links above, the appropriate links are on the previous page. and im going to just say that my Grand total is $2000 +/-
  5. HAHAHAHA!!!!! ok wow, i dont even know how im getting so many different totals, ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Ok so i have calculated, recalculated, and calculated again. and my total for the following is $2060.69 Corsair Memory Vengeance 16 Dual Channel Kit DDR3 1600 MHz 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM CMZ16GX3M4A1600?C9 by Corsair $78.99 http://www.amazon.co...+vengeance+16gb OCZ Technology 128GB Vertex 4 Series SATA 6.0 GB/s 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive (SSD) With Industry's Highest 120K IOPS And 5-Year Warranty - VTX4-25SAT3-128?G by OCZ $89.99 http://www.amazon.co...ywords=vertex+4 Kingston Hyperx Cooling Fan Accessory - Black by Kingston $19.75 http://www.amazon.co...erx+coloing+fan Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D THX PCIE Fatal1ty Champion Sound Card SB1354 by Creative $130.24 http://www.amazon.co...s=sound+blaster Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H100I CPU Cooler System LGA1155 1156 1366 2011 AM2 AM3 FM1 & FM2 http://us.ncix.com/p...facture=Corsair $108.10 Intel Core i7-3770K Quad-Core Processor 3.5 GHz 8 MB Cache LGA 1155 - BX80637I73770K by Intel $319.99 http://www.amazon.co...s=intel+core+i7 ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard by Asus $224.98 http://www.amazon.co...=sabnertoth+z77 Western Digital Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA III, 64 MB Cache $76.71 http://www.amazon.co...rn+didiatl+blue 2 X Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 DVI-I/HDMI/2x Mini-Displaypor?t PCI-Express Graphic Card GV-R795WF3-3GD by Gigabyte $299.99 http://www.amazon.co...eywords=hd+7950 Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black) by Asus $22.79 http://www.amazon.co...=Asus+24xDVD-RW AZZA Full Tower Computer Case with 4xEasy Swap HD Trays and 2x2.5-Inch SSD Trays HURRICAN 2000R (Black/Red) by AZZA $152.97 http://www.amazon.co...+hurrican+2000r Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit (Full) System Builder DVD 1 Pack by Microsoft Software $91.99 http://www.amazon.co...s-Premium-64bit Cougar SX850 http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817553006 (this looks to be a great value buy) $139.99 Perhaps this is right. if not let me know what your calculations are if they are different.
  6. Great Thanks!! I think i liek that cougar 850w PSU. For one its cheaper than the 750w PSU I have picked out now, and it would go good with the red and black theme of the Azza 2000r. SO now my new grand total is $2033.68
  7. haha!!! wow!!! what a blonde moment!! Ok... so i will look into a few other cheaper psus....or however you spell the plural of PSU ahah!!. And to add to to that list for the Grand total correction is that im getting two 7950s. not one. two. for crossfire.
  8. Haha LOL!!! so many choices!! I've taken all recommendations into account and have watched a load YouTube reviews on the different items. I found that most of the stuff i've been looking at is cheaper or the same price on amazon.com. So here is my current list if items all of which except for the CPU cooler i found on amazon. Now before you look any further take the following into account. 1. I hate to say it but i am big into aesthetics. But will be dropped if price requires it. 2. I like quality and don't like how much upgrades can cost. 3. Because i cant build this at this point in time (for right now this is all dreaming) some of the the items will probably change with your different recommendations.. With that said here are the items and their links. Now for my questions that i need answers to. 1. Do i need a network - wifi - lan card? 2. will all these components work together? 3. Overall what do you think? I will still take into consideration future suggestions. I thank you all for all the help. Before this forum i was pretty clueless as to building this machine.
  9. Whats some good ram? Im looking for 12 to 16GB
  10. What do yu guys think of the motherboard? 11. Haha Lol!! i just saw the price tag on the CPU and not the socket so yeah here is the cpu i picked out. Intel Core i7-3770K Quad-Core Processor 3.5 GHz 8 MB Cache LGA 1155 - BX80637I73770K by Intel $319.99 http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-3770K-Quad-Core-Processor-Cache/dp/B007SZ0EOW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1352754661&sr=8-2&keywords=3570k This cpu is not only LGA 1155 to fit the board, but im also going with the 3770k cause it inly $50 more than the 3820 anyways. Yes i know i can save $100 and still get the i5. that idea is still not out the window yet. I found this gigabyte HD 7950 for $299 and the Saphire dual x HD 7970 $399, again i know another hundred dollars, and again this 7950 will probably be the choice that i'll go with. http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Mini-Displayport-PCI-Express-Graphic-GV-R795WF3-3GD/dp/B007581QHG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352755406&sr=8-1&keywords=7950 http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-DL-DVI-I-SL-DVI-D-PCI-Express-11197-03-40G/dp/B009B6Y01Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352755400&sr=8-1&keywords=7970 I saw This intel SSD on newegg.com but found it cheaper at amazon.com Intel 330 Series Solid-State Drive 240 GB SATA 6 Gb/s 2.5-Inch http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Series-Solid-State-Drive-2-5-Inch/dp/B007P71JJM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1352755764&sr=8-3&keywords=intel+solid+state+drive Ho9wever i still want this HDD just for cheaper price and more storage space. http://www.amazon.com/Western-Digital-Blue-Desktop-Drive/dp/B0088PUEPK/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1352756080&sr=1-10&keywords=HDD i have had laptop with 500GB for almost two years now and it is half full. so istill have aload space on that and will probably never use the last 250GB, but you never know. And about that psu. Is this one any good? Corsair Professional Series HX 750 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Gold (HX750) http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Professional-Watt-Modular-HX750/dp/B0090I9VZI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1352756333&sr=1-1&keywords=hx+750 I thought about it and your right Fogel. So i ditched the fan controller. now i have more space for water cooling that i dont need and dont have the money for lol!! So let me know what you guys think about these things. And im still not sure about the MOBO. It doesnt seem right.
  12. 13. Great find El_capitan!!! Now would i needa aftermarket cpu cooler for 3770? i will not be doing any overclocking or anything.
  14. I just want a good motherboard that is cost effective, and LGA 1155 compatible and crossfire ready.
