  1. Hi there guys! It's been a while since I've been here, even longer since my last upgrade (try 4 or 5 years?) I currently have a Core2Duo E4300, Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4, and Corsair 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400. I am looking at a Core i5 system. This is what I'm looking at at the minute. I've never used an asrock mobo before, anyone ever used them? My budget is around £300, let me know what you think: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/251596 (CPU) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/267321 (MOBO) http://www.ebuyer.com/product/240498 (RAM) I went for 1333MHz, do you think I'll need 1600MHz, I am planning to overclock, but only on air, so it won't be a massive OC. Let me know!
  2. Hi there! I have two BenQ G2220HD 22" monitors running off a single 9600GT, both displays are using identical DVI cables. The problem I am having is that one of the monitors (1 year older than the other) doesn't display white correctly (not 100% sure if it ever displayed white correctly). When you place the same window over the border between the two monitors, one is pure white, the other is greyish. I've messed around with the settings both on my monitors and on my graphics card. The best solution I have found was to make the bright one less bright so that neither monitor will display white. I have tried swapping dvi ports but it seems as though it is the monitor that is at fault. Does any one know why this might happen? Does anyone have a solution? Thanks all
  3. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/888-q...le-disable.html First page on google using 'windows 7 quick launch' as my search string. Easy game this internet lark!
  4. Not much love for arch. Arch linux for me. Bleeding edge at all times, super fast, and customised to my needs. Good times!
  5. I have sorted it out now, cheers. What happened was the two buttons were stuck behind the case kind of. It looked as if it was set up wrong. But I had the case off and pulled them out properly and all is fine now. Cheers!
  6. Hi there I have recently come into possesion of a toshiba 440cdt laptop. Full Spec Although it actually has a 166MHz processor not 133. I will be using Damn small linux on the machine and i know that this card is supported by the prism drivers. The problem is that when i insert the card it doesn't go all the way in. I believe it is because of the buttons used to pop the card back out on the laptop that are the problem, they don't seem to go all the way in. Does anyone know why this is the case?
  7. I just looked at the tech preview system requirements and saw this: Web Browser: IE6, IE7, Firefox 1.5 and Firefox 2.0 Microsoft supporting firefox. Thought it was strange. This thing looks awesome though!
  8. Yea, I've been looking through the troubleshooting bits, so i'll give them a ring tomorrow. Has anyone had this kind of thing happen to them?
  9. Hi there. I seem to be having a problem with one of my wii remotes. It kind of works but the movement sensor doesn't seemt o be worknig. I can point at things and click on them on the screen, even when i rotate it you can see the little hand rotate like normal. but in wii sports it doesn't detect any movement on any of the games, and on zelda:twighlight princess it does work either. But it can still point at things and such like. It also seems that the +- buttons dont work in zelda. Anybody know what I should do?
  10. Cheers for that, I have had a little look around but couldn't find a way to do it. Nobody else got any idea of how to do this?
  11. Hi there guys. Is it possible to route an internet connection through my pc so that the wii can connect, without having to buy the lan adapter, or a wireless router. Cheers
  12. What about how often do you dust out your computer?
  13. The University of Manchester. England by the way! lol
  14. Definately peanut butter. It's the way forward
  15. I did that once, I'm in the UK. I switched it from 230V which is what it should be over here to 115V while it was still plugged in. All i can say is that the mini fireworks display was quite impressive, rather bright green lights coming from inside the power supply. Not to worry it was only a cheap PSU, and i learnt a lesson.
