  1. So it seems i will have to wait till weekend to finish this build completely. Stuff left to do : align back door for PSU/HDD, align or replace magnets (can't find decent ones in my neighbourhood at the moment) and make gpu holder (this could take up to 5 days with staining and varnishing). But here are some extra pics in the meantime
  2. Yeah it kinda does... It was hand drawn with rapidograph in between layers of varnish (between first and second coating of four total)
  3. So it is finally done (thanks for the support), well 98% would be more accurate, since I still have to align magnet holders that hold the PSU/HDD door in place and install some simple led lightning inside. At least hdd led eyes work as planned ... so let me present you some info and shots... Installed : MB: Asus Maximus Gene III (s.1156) CPU: i7 870 (@ 3.6 at the moment) COOLER: Prolimatech Megahalems (2 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM) + Noctua NFP14 FLX (exhaust fom case) + Zalman ZM-STG2 GPU: Radeon 7850 2gb PSU: Modular Chieftec Nitro BPS-550C Noctua NFP14 FLX is screwed in aluminum tube inserts with engraved thread (same as MB holder). ps
  4. Update. Sanding is finally done ( ). Staining in progress. I wanted to get that old wood look and i think i nailed it pretty good...
  5. Which one ? All three cases are mATX ! Red one (previous project) is around 1,5 kg if i remember correctly. Paulownia tormentosa is the type of wood that was used and all i can say with my experience so far is that it is by far the best type of wood to use for building pc cases. Reasons for that are connected with carpentry work and the way paulownia behaves over time (doesn't shrink). One i am working on now should be around 4 kg. (well that's classic pine)
  6. ha, ha, ha... i laughed my ass off..... As you can see it only took me four years to find some time and make another case, so taking your money would be impossible at this moment. Case above should be finished in about two weeks. My head hurts ( ) from 5 hour sanding i did yesterday.
  7. I appreciate that. Cheers mate ! I'll post new pics as work progresses...
  8. Hi everyone, just wanted to share my new micro atx project that is well on the way. In enclosed photos you can see dry connections of the case. I have to do a lot of sanding before staining / varnishing. Hope that moderators won't be angry if i don't open a new topic.
  9. Case is fireproof to 560 C , so no problems there and there are always thermo sprays (up to 1000 C) you can use.
  10. well, one day (future) i am considering making about 20 pieces (different designs, and much more complex) and see how they sell...but for now, no
  11. Link is not wrong, it leads to my previus wooden project (my pc actually - still gotta do some work on it dou) posted on anandtech forum.
  12. Link is fixed, thanks for pointing out the metal shield ? actually it is hard 1mm thick plastic, drilled and cut, and finnaly sprayed with silver thermo spray (600C fire resistant)
  13. Sequel to previous project.. Previous PC So here is another one, made for best mate... MBO = ASROCK A785GMH/128M CPU = Athlon II x 2 240 / OC to 3.4Ghz / load temp 45c Cooler = Stock + 2x120mm intake and exaust slim vents (Scythe) controlled with custom potentiometer Memory = 2x2 GB ddr2 1066 Mushkin HDD = WD Caviar Blue 320GB - with custom aluminium holder Power Supply = LC POWER 420 W / silent all the way GPU = Radeon 4670 Ultimate, 512mb DDR 3 OS = Windows 7 Home Premium .. oh, and of course both 10mm led eyes glow with HDD acitivity
