Laser Printers

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a decent laser printer for the office, what do you guys recommend?

We've got an OKI C5150N here thats about 5-6 years old thats finally crapping the bed.

We aren't going to get it fixed

It literally takes 60 seconds to "warm up", longer if your printing color

It jams all the time

It just desperately needs to be replaced...

We're looking at about $400.

B&W this time around

30PPM minimum

Multifunction is a plus (at least a copy function)

I was looking at this:

Dell 2335dn Multifunction Laser Printer

It looks look a pretty darn decent printer.

(I can even upgrade the memory)

Do any of you have experience with laser printers?

We had a brother laser printer at work, and needless to say I wanted to office space that thing on many occasions. We finally got rid of it and got an hp. Much happier with the hp.

Oh well, it has got to be better than this piece of shi crap that we're using now...

Quick question, I want to upgrade the memory in this.

It says it takes 144-pin DIMM, does it have to be ECC or anything special?

IMO you will be sorry you bought a brother. lol

The manual for the printer should have stipulations listed for what memory the printer needs.

Well, we needed something and it seemed to get pretty decent reviews.

*shrug*

I also picked up a 256 stick for $25...

I can't imagine it will be any worse than this POS OKI that we have now...

Honestly, the best laser I've EVER used was the Samsung we had @ circuit city, in over 2 years of operation we jammed the thing once. I've also had a great track record with HP, the IBM color laser we had however was the biggest pile of crap I've ever seen.

I think there is reason large corporations (and the public sector, at least here) tend to use HP.

I don't think I have really seen anything but in any serious print room.

We have a 4000N at home that was in office use for years and now continues to churn out prints even though it has some cosmetic damage.
