  1. Eh I cant stand Xfire any more
  2. Howdy. Everything is up and running! Here is the flickr gallery: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28044980@N04/ I've also uploaded pictures of the bios options for overclocking. What I would like to do is push this from 2.0Ghz to 3.0Ghz or close to it. What do you guys recommend I do knowing what parts I have? Just look at the options available and tell me what to change! Thanks!!!!
  3. Thanks for pointing out my budget error! I have swapped a few parts around and now have: Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM - $44.99 GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail - $89.99 Heard the EP35 was a good board (more USB, better PCI-E x16 2.0 support?) so I think I will be trying it out instead. However it's quite a bit more than the previous mobo I had chosen so I had to knock down the HDD a little bit. Total now after shipping is: $534.39 Anything I could do to lower it? If not I think I'm rather satisfied.
  4. Configured a pretty cheap compy for my little brother. He's using it mostly for school work, some games (hellgate london), and media. I think it will suffice. Anyway here goes: GFX: ASUS EN9600GSO TOP/HTDP/384M GeForce 9600 GSO 384MB 192-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814121251 Case & PSU: Antec NSK4480 Black/ Silver 0.8mm cold-rolled steel construction ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 380W Power Supply - Retail http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811129031 DVD-RW: LITE-ON 20X DVD
  5. Razor for the win!!!! the Logitech is nice for short periods of use. But your going to see howmuch your arm starts hurting after a few hours of using it.... RAZOR!!!!
  6. I'm going to retract my last statement that he used themonitor with the same graphics card that I am doing it with. So I think its because Geforce 2 does not have VESA support
  7. Ok so I have this old HP desktop pc with an hppavilion mx75 17" crt monitor. My friend got a new monitor so he decided to give me his old Phillips Brilliance 201B monitor. Its a beast!!! Anyway it worked on his Dell with a 9600 Pro. When he gave it to me I brought it home and left it outside for a few hours (it didnt rain, it wasent hot or cold, no myst, etc...) I brought it in and it sbeen down in the basement on a table for like 2+weeks. Now I finally get a chance to test it out and when I plug it in and power up the pc the monitor just displays a centered picture that is red, green & blue? bars and it says no sync input... Ive tried switching the cable around but same error. Even just having it plugged into the power and nothing else gives that error? Is it fubar? Or am I doing something wrong. My friend assured me it worked and before I got it I clearly saw it working properly on his pc... Any tips? I really dont want to throw the 21" beast away.. and also the fact that it weighs like 50 lbs and my dad would get really pissed off just for bringing it in the house... Edit: Ok so I've read through the user manual at http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/2/201b40_...74h_dfu_aen.pdf question 36 says: My screen shows NO SYNC INPUT , how can I get rid of this? Check the following for possible solutions: -Bent pins on the video cable l -Make sure the computer is turned on l -Ensure the VGA Cable is properly connected l -Ensure the BNC/D-Sub connector on the rear of the monitor is in the correct position, newer models have this option in the On Screen Display under Input Signal Selection. -Video card may be not a VESA standard (try the monitor with another computer) l So I know I there no bent pins, the computer is turned on, the cable is properlyconnected, the d-sub connector is in the right position, I dont know about my video card being a VESA standard. But the graphics card is the same friends who gave me the monitor and he used them both together before getting a 9600! The graphics card is a Hercules Nvidia GeForce 2 GTS/Pro I donno wuts up>_>
  8. Do pci-express amd motherboards need a flash to run these?
  9. The A+ covers a bit of networking... But not too much this is why there is Network+ Certification... I passed my hardware test around Feb and am going to do OS before wednesday... I study off thug MarCraft book that comes with a test cd... It comes with over like 3000 questions (OS + HD together) and I usually score 85% or better on it... I passed my hardware with 556 out of the needed 505 or something and I only got 70's on the marcraft cd but I only took it a few times so haha! This time I am ready to really own it!
