Basically one is not better than the other but you can't mix and match both because the way motherboards handle it. Yes, PWN fans can be controlled from BIOS and in Windows(some software) that are connected to MB. 2. 4 pin if the mobo also has 4 pins, otherwise they run at full speed 3. No, for 3 pins you need a separate fan contorller Judging from the manual CPU 4 pin 1-2 and chassis 1-4 support pwn in bios so..
