  2. This is basically a question of "How much music do you have/listen to?" I have well over 15gb of music on my computer that I listen to pretty regularly so the 30/60gb ipod is obviously my choice. If you only listen to ~1000 songs or whatever the 4gb nano holds, then definitely get that. It's really a matter of preference. If there was an 8/16gb nano, I'd already own one that's for sure. Aesthetically, the nano kills the 5g. The 5g is more bang for buck, plus it looks pretty sweet. It isn't much of a video player though, so don't get caught up in that. It's marginal at best with videos from what I've been reading. Good luck. Rich
  3. Alright, I've got a question for you guys about your docks. I'm running a 5.1 sound card and I was curious as to how the dock connects to your pc. When it's connected via USB can you access it to play music? If I were to have the new dock + remote, would I be able to play music while the ipod is docked? I know it will work on a stereo with a line out, but I'm not really interested in that. I'm pretty sure my sound card has a line in, so would that work? I want to be able to connect the ipod to the computer and access it from across the room all while still playing music from my computer. Is this feasible? Thanks in advance. Rich
  4. one challenge per day. i'm not sure when the new one gets posted, but it's one per day. we solved this one, so now we wait until tomorrow before we get the next one. if we are the first group to solve it, it's worth 110 points, and then 10 points after that. i don't wake up early enough for that so maybe one of you guys can take care of it. good luck. i have a feeling they're going to get a lot harder. anyone who knows what notpr0n is will be an asset for this mission.
  5. http://www.barcodesinc.com/generator/index.php that's for the barcode i added a pic of the ip-relay with the answer.... so it's not totally spoiled unless you want it to be. -rich
  6. i'm sorry, i didn't mean to cause a commotion. i didn't tell the answer in my post for obvious reasons. it's not really a big deal to me, but basically this is how you solve it: the only part of the picture that mattered were the white holes. you line them all up and it gives you a bar code. this bar code can be translated via the internet. the site will give you some other code, and this can be translated into a 10 digit number. you have to call the number and you get a voice mail with the answer. if you want the number i'll give it to you, but i didn't want to spoil it for EVERYONE. the answer is two words and neither have to do with the picture. sorry guys. i was just trying to help out. my nick is richocc on the team, but i'm not sure if the leader can see who solved it. but that is me. -rich
  7. ClayMeow, i was the one who solved it for us. it was pretty ridiculous how to get the answer. basically, you're way off. the picture had nothing to do with it. but yeah, i got the answer for us since i'm such a nice guy.
  8. looks like it has to do with dreamcast maybe? japanese release was around 11 27 98 (i think the 25th). it's definitely an older system/computer. those fans are probably 60mm or smaller and that board is just plain old in comparison to today's boards. i'm basically drawing a blank though.
  9. Thanks for clearing that up. Shadowfactor: What motherboard would I need to achieve those speeds? Most people use the Infinity by DFI or the NF7-S by Abit as you know, I'm sure. Would I be able to achieve DDR433 speeds and beyond with one of these two boards (without modification)? I've seen it done, I am just not sure how. I figured my board was a no go, but are these other nforce2 boards capable of these speeds? Any input would be great. Thanks Rich
  10. I have PCB rev 2.0 as far as I know so MY latest BIOS is 1007. I think it all depends on which A7N8X board you have. I was on asus.com and the newest for the A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 is BIOS rev 1007. I'm sure I could be wrong, but that's the way I interpreted rev 2.0 vs rev 1.04, 1.06, etc. Rich
  11. I have an A7N8X and I just picked up 2x512 of Corsair PC3500 bh-5 ram. Right now I'm running it by SPD at 200mhz dual channel mode. I flashed to the newest BIOS (1007), but I'm still having issues. I want to put my FSB and RAM at at least 217, 218mhz giving me DDR433 ram like I should have. Right now I'm using a 2600+ (11x200), so the FSB probably isn't feasible at the moment, but the RAM should be able to get that high. Does anyone have this board with RAM over 217? I booted at 205 FSB/RAM and the next lowest I tried was I believe 210 and it didn't even go to POST. If I get an NF7-S or DFI Infinity will I have these same problems or are these boards capable of higher FSBs and RAM speeds? I've heard of people getting 250 FSB, and I assume the RAM is by SPD. I know my RAM is capable of these speeds and beyond. I'm looking to get a mobile chip, but I don't want to waste my time if I can't get my RAM to reach those speeds on an nforce2 board. I turned the FSB down to like 182 and put the RAM at 120% making it run at 218 and I didn't get to POST. Should I look into a different board or what? Is it dual channel mode that is causing me problems? Any help would be useful at this point. <_< Thanks in advance. Rich
