Braegnok Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) What do you guys think,.. will AMD go with RX 300 Series 28nm cards,.. or start up fabrication of 20nm cards before Nvidia,.. Edited August 20, 2014 by Braegnok
DanTheGamer11 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Well I think the GPUs in the Haswell processors are 22nm so ^^ But between nVidia and AMD I think it might be AMD since they seem to adapt a new process node first... guess we'll see in a few months time/next Jan/spring
ccokeman Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 AMD usually hits first then NVIDIA drops the bomb.

H37 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 AMD usually hits first then NVIDIA drops the bomb. EXACTLY. My general impression is that AMD generally does it first... But then Nvidia comes along and does it right!

Braegnok Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) If the rumors are true, the Pirate Islands-based GPUs will be baked onto AMD's 20nm process,.. and will be released in early 2015. And NVIDIA will skip the 800 branding,.. launching the GeForce GTX 980/970 Maxwell GPUs this September. Looks like the Radeon R9 390X will be a 20nm beast,.. featuring 4224 Stream Processors, 264 Texture Units (TUs), 96 ROPS, a Core Clock of around 1GHz, Memory Clocks hitting 7GHz or so, and a super-wide 512-bit memory bus.
