Who will release first 20nm GPU

What do you guys think,.. will AMD go with RX 300 Series 28nm cards,.. or start up fabrication of 20nm cards before Nvidia,..

Well I think the GPUs in the Haswell processors are 22nm so ^^

 

But between nVidia and AMD I think it might be AMD since they seem to adapt a new process node first... guess we'll see in a few months time/next Jan/spring

EXACTLY. My general impression is that AMD generally does it first... But then Nvidia comes along and does it right!

If the rumors are true, the Pirate Islands-based GPUs will be baked onto AMD's 20nm process,.. and will be released in early 2015.

 

And NVIDIA will skip the 800 branding,.. launching the GeForce GTX 980/970 Maxwell GPUs this September.

 

Looks like the Radeon R9 390X will be a 20nm beast,.. featuring 4224 Stream Processors, 264 Texture Units (TUs), 96 ROPS, a Core Clock of around 1GHz, Memory Clocks hitting 7GHz or so, and a super-wide 512-bit memory bus.
