Been running 1 on my Corsair H70 radiator. Full load, it sounds like a damn jet plane taking off in my room, but if I set it at 1% pwn control in Bios, it's actually quiet compared to what I'm used to. BUT... I also CPU mine with this i7 920 now... soooo.... yeah.... I don't care how loud it is when I'm mining.

I think he's going for more of a WOW not more of a POW. It's a nice kit, but as he said, you'd be better off buying a H100i if you're just cooling your CPU. Custom loops, unless you're looking to add LED/UV effects to the lines and reservoir, are pointless on a CPU only liquid cooling solution... that is... unless you're going with a 360 rad or a really MONSTER thick Radiator.

Update!!! 4.3GHz and STABLE!!! WIN! 61GFlops on Intel Burn-in Test. Screenshot included! Vcore 1.5125v QPI/VTT 1.4v XMP Enabled (G.Skill Sniper 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Low Voltage 1.25... underclocked to 1280MHz 9-9-9-24 2T) *will upgrade to triple-channel when RAM prices drop again... sigh...

Bringing it back from the dead. Same system, few changes. Changes: 1. Corsair H70 dual fan 2. Agility 3 SSD 3. Radeon 7870 2GB CAN HOLD STABLE AT 4.2GHz with HT disabled! 1.45625vcoe (bios) Right now, shooting for 4.3GHz. Will pass 8/10 burn-in tests before crashing (59 GFlops) Performs MUCH better with HT disabled in benchmarks @4.2. Problem I'm running into at 4.3 is QPI voltage and vcore voltage. It freezes at test 8. Suggestions?

Now granted, I modded the bios on my video card... Radeon HD 5830 from Sapphire... With that said, for the past few weeks (had the bios modded for MONTHS) I have been randomly getting "AMD Display Driver has stopped responding and recovered." Driver Version : 12.104.0.0 I had CCC 13.4 installed... and uninstalled it today and ran just plain-jane driver on there... had little effect. Anytime I pull up a flash video (mostly in firefox... but has happened a lot in Chrome lately too) the driver crashes. The funniest thing is... it doesn't happen AT ALL during gameplay when the graphics card is used the most. Anyone else getting a similar effect?

Qpi voltage was bumped up. After trial and error, this 920 does not like the 200 bclock... Haven't tried more than that, but it runs fine on 199 bclock. I need to get a better Ram set for overclocking.

Thanks. I knew that much. I figured it out. This baby needed a LOT more juice (voltage) than I thought it would. Running stable at 3.8GHz (1.5V). Passed Intel Burn test with flying colors going no higher than 90°C. I might try for a higher speed later for s&g's, but it's moving pretty slick right now as it is.

What speeds are you looking to achieve?

For CoreTemp, adjust the offset to +12.1. That is the most accurate you're going to get. I checked it against AMD Overdrive and CPUID HWMonitor. It's accurate within 0.25°C. Also, hope you have an aftermarket cooler. Those 4100's like to heat up fast past 4GHz.

*sounds buzzer* That is incorrect Sir. You are thinking of the Video cards. They didn't laser cut the Phenom II cores to my knowledge. To the OP: When you buy a Phenom II 555BE, you are going on a gamble. It's most likely a 50/50 chance you'll get a cpu that unlocks all 4 cores... 25/75 that it will be STABLE (also depends on the motherboard.) I myself had one a few years ago. It unlocked all 4 cores on a Biostar TA790GX 128M. Depending on the clock speeds, it was stable... but if you ever get it to unlock all 4... (or even just 3,) make sure you have an aftermarket cooling system. These cores are disabled for a reason by AMD, and most of the time, it was because of thermal issues.

Well, I stepped into a pile with this one. This being my first intel overclock build, I'm having some issues overclocking. First, the setup: Intel Core i7 920 Bloomfield Gigabyte G1.Guerrilla X58 (LGA 1366) 8GB GSkill Sniper DDR3 1600 (2x4... upgrading to 6GB *3x2*Tri-Channel later) 1x Radeon HD5830 1GB Thermaltake ToughPower TR2 750W PSU Seagate 160GB SATAIII 7200RPM (HDD, not SSD ) InWin Dragonrider Full-Tower Chassis Xigmatek Dark Knight-S1283W CPU Cooler (aftermarket BEAST pwm fan moving 180cfm max, brand unknown ) Right now, I have it stable at 3GHz... but anything higher than that, causes boot failure. I have disabled all the energy efficient goodies from bios, checked, double-checked, and triple checked my ram speed/pcie clock/voltage/etc... tried for 3.2GHz... boot fail. I honestly do not understand... but I guess from what I read on the C0/C1 stepping... is that it is a NIGHTMARE to overclock... Has anyone successfully hit 3.8GHz plus on this i7 920? Oh... and the voltage I left stock for the 3.0GHz OC... because every time I touch voltage... it derps on me... so far it's stable...
