  1. You guys have got to be kidding me right? I'm a computer sales guy at Fry's and like NO one buys a CRT. No One. I'm surprised there is so much support for them. I think most of you have never seen/used a new generation TFT screen, they are SO much better then a CRT. If you get a nice Samsung of Viewsonic that has a response time below 8ms you could not see any ghosting with a gun to your head. You guys all really need to go out and see what the new TFT's are all about, look at one that has a 8ms or lower response time and a contrast ration over 550:1, you will be amazed.
  2. Hi, I just got my 3800+ x2 system running and have taken the CPU to 2.7ghz with no problem with the ram set to 1:2. The MB is a DFI nf4 SLI-dr. The ram that I have is Corsair Twinx 4000Pro that should be able to do 250 FSB no problem. For some reason it will not work with anything above 240FSB at 1:1. I tried leaving all the timings at default and setting them to the manufacture recommended values of 3-4-4-8, but no go. Any ideas? Thanks.
  3. Hi guys, GREAT IDEA!!! I tried this on my rig and highlighters work OK, but not really bright enough
  4. Save up for a nice video card, that will help the most in games.
  5. Ok guys I really appreciate the help. I think I will hold out until March 29th when I read somewhere the 3700+ is supposed to come out. Hopefully by then some really nice mobos will be out. FanATIc205 do you know when the boards you are talking about will be out? Thanks again.
  6. http://www.overclockers.com/articles952/ Might want to read this befor you run out and buy the chip. Just like said, way too much heat...
  7. Thought I read somewhere that it did not oc well at all. But non the less let us know.

  10. Hi guys how about we post our rig specs(very important ) and the scores you are getting with your favorite benchmarking utility? I think it will be interesting to compare results with fellow overclockers. I will go first. Specs of rig: AMD Athlon 2500+ @2.4GHz @1.95v 1GB Corsair PC4000 Pro Ram ATI Radion 9800 Pro Audigy Pro sound Abit NF7-S Swiftech Water cooling kit(2 Rads) Thermaltake Xaser III Tower Bunch of UV lights. 11. Hi I have a few questions about the Athlon64 and the mother boards that are available for it at the moment. First I hear that Microsoft is coming out with Win XP 64bit this month??? Is this for real? A 64bit OS that will let the Athlon64 run at its full potential? Also do the athlon64 boards use the ram type of ram as all the other Intel and Athlon xp boards? In other words will my corsair pc4000 pro 184pin ram work with the athlon64 mobos? From one of Nuclear
  12. OMG is it really that hard to come to a choice when the AMD is clearly a much more superior chip? I mean if you where talking about a p4 then the choice would be kind of iffy. Anyway if it will make you feel better get the slow A** Intel but with a 2500+ you can oc it to a 3200+ and have a first rate system. The DARK side has a grave grip on you... Good Lucks.
  13. Prescott sucks... Athlon64 all the way. I'm getting ether the 3700+ or if I can hold out long enogh the 4000+.
  14. Yah room temp makes ALL the diffrence. And 42c at load aint that bad even at stocks voltage...
  15. Just wondering what is faster. Most reviews I have read seem to favor the athlon 64 over the p3.2 but how does it stack up to a p3.4? And also from an overclocker perspective what chip has the most potential(and wich chip has the most braging rights )? Also from what I understand the athlon 64 mobo's use diffrent memory then all teh current athlons and p4's right? Thanks.
