  1. Hey Matt Mantle & Matt Cameron, I congradulate you both for pulling the article off. Being there for 2 days, I thought it was impossible to see everything... and it was! Zillions of things were happening simultaneous shows, video clips, music, people, games. I happened to only get to 3-4 halls (approx. 60% of everything). But I feel your pain in making this article... each day is long and it would suck sitting in your hotel typing away, but you guys did it. I think you deserve a [10] for just the effort... screw missing content! Boy, Im definately going next year again~~
  2. Been a while since i've posted here... nice and pretty now I was hoping to see whether anyone had experience or knowledge on placing ads in Search Engines, i.e. Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. Why am i asking? I'm helping my friend out with his business. In fact, he was offered this package where he's get to put his company under certain "keywords" for about $30 - $40 a month or year (im not sure). What do you think? What can you find out for me? Everyone is welcomed to help. Rich
  3. Intel Pentium IV 2.6ghz - $170 Asus P4P800 Deluxe - $130 Dual Ch. 1gb pc3200 400mhz - $180 ATi All-in-Wonder 9600 pro - $200 I just bought this rig for the best price ... ~$680 Personally, i've done my research and come to a grand conclusion. Although it may be a bit more costly than the AMD setups, i believe it's well worth it. The prices have dropped dramaticly since it first came out and therefore making this specific chip the best buy of the bunch. Obviously the AMD 2500+ is also a great deal... its all up to you to decide what you like better. Overclocking-wise, i havent tried yet, but i do know it can OC easily up to 3.2ghz (accordingly to P4 2.4ghz chips). As for the memory, take an advantage of the Asus dual channel support. (self-evident). The motherboard is also super tight. It has everything you will need for a long time including SATA RAID 0,1,0+1 , 6-channel sound, firewire, usb2.0, gigabit lan, etc. The Video card was just my own preference for video fun. I do own a ati 9700 pro but i wanted a multimedia card such as the all-in-wonders. It has the TV/FM tuner, video in/output, dual monitor support, remote control, etc. Well worth the expense. If you have questions just PM me. Good luck with your picks!
  4. comedy isn't ur stong point i thought i was being slightly serious -_-'' just a starting offer, btw... that's if you are willing to sell that lappy
  5. im guessing you want to sell it? what do you say to $300?
  6. that sux... u could altogether save urself time and money by going to a shop which has all the materials that can test individual components. Uhm... seems like you got most of the stuff tested out. GJ then.
  7. i've tried both... it doesnt work either way. I believe it tries to read out of the floppy even though Cd-rom is chosen. Any other theories? Next post: i've figured out that its probably a bad copy... i got the diskette boot sequence to work and it says that i should try a different winxp cd... thanks for info
  8. I've tried to install windows on a new harddrive but haven't been succuessful. This is what i did. First i just allowed the computer to boot in default sequence. It didn't load the install cd; it says: "Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key." Nothing worked there, so next i tried using the 4 disk winxp boot floppys i made but without luck. It did not load the diskettes as it should have. So i hope im not out of options. Specs: Asus P4P800 - deluxe Pentium 4 2.6ghz 1024kb ram
  9. to clean ur mobo, use dust-blowers... those are those environment safe aerosol cans that blow air. And for heatsinks... the air may not work 100%, so just get cotton swabs (dry or wet) or Q-tips. That should do the cleaning. I cant exactly tell you whats wrong with your system. Try other first person shooters and other games. But if it continues to lag in fps (framer per sec), then u might want to update your ATi video driver. But if still more problems, u might as well just re-format your computer and re-install windows. Up to you.
  10. thanks for the info Slogan! that artical is well written and informative.
  11. yah its like on your calculator... its allows you to do another function just like the button "2nd" on your Ti-83plus or any scientific calc ... those bottons may be aka "shift" or "ctrl". So basicly if you have any marked keys which have similar colors or figures on it just like how the FN key does... then thats what you can do. For example, FN + B makes something work in windows... its equivalant to using Ctrl + X as the "cut" function. If this doesnt make any sense... then i am totally wrong and i have just wasted my time replying. GL.
  12. if you can sell stuff cheap, such as lesser than CompUSA's overpriced accessories (xtreme gears), then you will have customers and possibly be more successful in appealing to us Gaming Geeks. Go check out Watercooling companies such as Dtek, DangerDen, etc. (high grade equipment) and get whole sale prices. Well, you've been around in OCC so just look around. Something i would do would be for detailing like paints, teflon, cutting tools, UV everything, sleeving, screws, anodized accessories, custom mouses, mouse pads, bottons, etc.... GL
  13. get Rage3d's tweeker to check / tweek your card. you can find it at www.rage3d.com
