I thought about doing that but wasn't sure all standards would work with HDMI, plus I had the extra optical cable gathering dust... I'm sure either way works great!

I built my HTPC with an Intel board that has an optical output for sound. It works perfectly with my Yamaha A/V receiver. Just checking, why would anyone want to bother with a sound card? Just to save on the cost of an A/V receiver?

That will be my "Nuclear Option", Thanks!

At this point I obviously have a few things to try. If anyone has ever had this very issue they are still welcome to chime in though, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks for all the replies by the way! I have not tried Precision X and will give it a shot next, maybe after I try AB one more time with CCC disabled. Thanks for the suggestion.

I modified all registry entries as per the overclocking guide. But then again I was not trying to overclock yet, I just rebooted after starting AB but made no changes. It dawns on me that I may have had CCC overclocking still enabled though and maybe that was the issue. I just assumed AB was not going to try to OC until I told it to explicitely.

I wasn't able to find a similar post to this so here goes. I recently added a second 6970 to my rig for a dual XF setup and it's watercooled. I installed the latest version of MSI Afterburner and started it. It asked me for a reboot in order to work best, this is before I had attempted any kind of overclock. I had read that it's best to disable ULP so I did that through regedit and allowed Afterburner to reboot. My PC would simply hang before booting up. I had to go in safe mode and uninstall Afterburner otherwise I couldn't boot. Is this a known issue? Am I missing something? My XF setup is working just fine, slightly overclock through CCC 12.3 and scoring roughly P10600 in 3DMark11 so I'm assuming it's Kosher. Any help appreciated.
