gouber Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I need some suggestions on a basic computer build which would be sufficient in a start up venture of mine and my friend. It needs to be able to play modern games like Call of Duty Black Ops 2 without lag, be able to capture video and audio from gameplay in said games, and of course be sub $600. No need for monitor. OEM parts ok I am able to build computers. Or even just a suggestion on specs on a computer that can do this would be sufficent. And if possible be upgradeable. Waco Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 So basically you want a sub-$600 gaming machine sans monitor with a decent-sized HDD for video recording? Give me a few minutes.

Waco Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Here's my suggestion: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147166 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130914 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148543 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135338 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116782 After rebate it's $600 + whatever shipping you choose. Upgradable to a "K series" processor and whatever else. Toss in either whatever HDD you have now or add a larger one for a few more $$$ (since most people either have a strong preference or old drives laying around I didn't want to limit your options). gouber Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I lost track of computer technology and prices about 2 years after XP came out. so many more choices than there used to be. Ive spent the last two hours scaning pricewatch.com and goin through parts to come up with a $577 computer myself. AMD and Nvidia based. Shoulda mentioned those preferences but ya either way works! lol
gouber Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 basically my build consists of: AMD Phenom II x4 955 1x8GB though i prefer ur idea on 2x4GB if dual channel tech is still used Asus M4N68T-M v2 Motherboard Nvidia GTX of some sort but ur videocard seems better for cheaper. Chiefmax 650 Watt PSU of some sort Chiefmax Midtower ATX case a cheap $29 HD to get started with till i can get some more money together Windows 7 OS Price: $577 estimated with $10 range of error on estimate. Am i correct that this can be put together?

The resolution would be 1920X1080 if you are talking about 1080p display. @Waco: good & totally balanced config.
