  1. That sounds familiar I remember back in 2008 when we had these same arguments on the forums http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=156462&hl=%202008%20%20elections&st=96 No offense to anyone in the quotes anyone remember what was said 4 years ago. I remember the socialist arguments. http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=156462&view=findpost&p=1596041 http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.php?showtopic=156462&view=findpost&p=1582418
  2. I'm not part of any party but I think the republicans could have won this election if they played there cards right which they didn't. It seems to me if they chose a candidate that was a little more moderate towards the middle they could have probably swung more independent and or undecided voters towards there side. But instead they choose candidates that go around trashing each other during there primary's which makes themselves look bad and arguing about Obama's birth certificate and claiming they would never raise taxes for any reason. I don't think it helped that they picked Romney who has shown over the past 20 years that he has changed his mind constantly about political views on critical issues all made some people nervous and not vote for him.
  3. That video is biased most people who voted for him probably did it for other reasons rather then just because they shared the same race or ethnicity.
  4. I'd have to agree I haven't used one in a while. The only time registry cleaners have help sometimes is when a program didn't uninstall or update properly running a registry cleaner would sometimes fix those issues but other then that based on what I have heard most registry cleaners just don't work.
  5. Most ISP's with the exception of a few have bandwidth caps nowadays. If your looking for an ISP without a cap I would suggest looking into an ISP business class internet packages because a lot of ISP's usually don't have bandwidth caps on there business class internet connections. The only downside is business class internet can cost any ware between $30-$300 or more then residential internet connections.
  6. I have both 3 computers connected to the wired network and a couple of laptops and smart phones connect to the wireless network.
  7. I would have to say that I prefer freedom over protection. As for the police argument that dragonsdontfly made I would say he has made some good points. I don't think it's correct to say that all police are bad but I do think it's a good idea to be cautious around them considering all the bad things that come up every know and then.
  8. It's been about 8 years since I joined. Although in the past few years I've been so busy I haven't been around as much as I use to.
  9. I'm not a legal expert but this is what I have learned over the years. When you get warning letters it's usually not just from your ISP. Typically what happens is the music, video, and software companies hire special companies to track down pirates. What these companies typically do is they join bit torrent sessions or other types of download services and try to connect to you. Once they connect to you they record your IP address and then send a complaint to your ISP which looks up the IP address to find who on there network owns it and then forwards the warning letter to you. After a certain number of warnings typically your ISP cuts your service also the company that sent those warning letters may take legal action against you. There are usually two different types of copyright infringement letters that get sent. A warning letter which basically say's you've been caught downloading copyright files and if you don't stop legal action may be taken against you. A court order letter which says that the company that owns the copyrighted material has already gone to court and the court has issued a subpoena that is requesting that your isp hand over information that will identify you and you have a certain amount of days to challenge this subpoena or your information will be turned over and then the company that's going after you can take legal action against you. The best way to avoid these problems is to stop downloading. All the other stuff that people usually suggest like saying someone else is using your wireless internet doesn't usually work because typically the internet subscriber is suppose to be responsible for what happens on the internet connection although in recent years this statement has been challenged in court. Doing other things like erasing hard drives can be seen as obstruction of justice or cause other problems.
  10. To bad I read through this when every one was done discussing it.
  11. You could try using Windows backup just make an image of your current setup and then boot from the Windows 7 dvd and restore it.
  12. I'd have to say that I'm not poor because I still live with my parents but if I was living on my own I would probably be considered below the poverty line. My definition of poverty is someone who cannot afford the essential necessitates required to survive.
  13. I think that there are some important things worth mentioning that seem to be missing from the topic. When it comes to lack of intelligence we tend to thing that this is a bad thing. But there are a lot of people out there who want to create a non intelligent misinformed society so they can do whatever they want without opposition. Examples of this can be seen everyday just look in politics and corporations who try to control the public for there own advantage. The other thing with intelligence is some people don't want to be smart because of the old saying "with great wisdom comes great sorrow" and would rather believe in the old saying "ignorance is bliss" because they think it will make life easier.
