  1. Ok, I´ve been thinking the whole day now about how we can get this thing rolling. Call me a noob, say I´m stupid, but here we go: Programming, especially gameprogramming; is hard work and one of the most complex subjects ever. That`s why: 1. We need departments established within our little "V.O.C.G.D.P.C." ("virtual open community game development project company"). The vacant positions are listed on http://letscreateagame.com/jobs.html 2: Our communication with each other and our actual work process has to be somehow transparent and documented for everybody participating. If it`s not, new members or beginners who join the project in order to benefit and contribute, are possibly going to be frustrated and are going to quit. 3: Folks, I tell you this right here and now at the beginning: if we don`t have a plan for this and just keep on collecting and keep adding tons and tons of information---->chaos Honestly speaking: The perfect website, the perfect project for noobies like myself isn`t another archive with links to another 1000 tutorials. If I need that, I use google or watch utubetutorials. I´m looking for a workshop via internet. Period. LET`S GET IT ON. I could leave it like that, but there`s this idea for the letscreateagame.com website... I don`t know how many active members there will be in some months, but just in case there`ll be, let`s say, 25+, why not add some sort of "currency", or "budget" system for our members? The basic idea is that you start out with zero funds, then start collecting funds, achievements, awards etc.. through your dedication to this project, progress in our hierarchy and take more and more responsibility. That could be fun and be some sort of badge. This may seem overambitious and useless at first, but I really think it would be helpful. It would help to organize and motivate within the community. I admit, it`s a bit early to discuss topics like that, but this is how things work online. One might argue that this is way too much bureaucracy for such a small project, but who knows what happens next?
  2. Hey guys, I`ve downloaded the free cryengine 3 two days ago and I`ve searched the net for information about it and found your threat. I have a lot of free time right now and I always wanted to make my own games, so I attended the meeting yesterday and right now I`m feeling pretty motivated to get something started. ------My contribution to this project would be on the artistic side. I can produce a soundtrack or some sound effects, that would be something I could do right off the bat.------ ------I also have some knowledge about UDK and blender, and I´d love to be a true 3d artist...or even coder! - but to be honest - I need more skills before I can come up with something useful....------ I`m german, I live in Munich but I think my English is acceptable. During the meeting yesterday I understood every word, I`m just a bit slower than native speakers. (this project is a great way to train my English btw...) I would really like to see this project take off, and would like to help you guys coordinate and motivate, (especially in this beginning phase) but I can only imagine how hard it really is to get a good and working team together.( I`ve never really tried.) please please autodesk: send us free copies:-)
