XtremeDS Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) At least, in the "coming soon" in Steam, there aren't a Guild Wars 2. They could have said how we could get it later in the Guild Wars 2 website. Edit: I noticed something right now: Starting April 10, players can secure their Guild Wars 2 Limited Collector's Edition, Digital Edition, or Digital Deluxe copy by pre-purchasing the entire game at buy.guildwars2.com or at select retailers. So its going to be able to purchase it online, like a in Steam? (I only noticed this right now ) Edited March 17, 2012 by XtremeDS
WhenKittensATK Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 (edited) Yes, beta invitations have begun going out. They'll be sent out over the next few days. Please remember that discussing the beta in any way, shape, or form -- including your status in it -- is a breach of NDA. Don't risk your beta access! ~RB2 ============================ Steam doesn't add games until they are near launch. Current select retailers are Best Buy, Amazon, GameStop, and the usual ones. I'll most likely be $60/$80/$150 pricing just like SWTOR packs minus the monthly subscription fees. Note: If you want the 3-day early access before launch, you need to pre-purchase meaning you have to pay the full price when you order. If you pre-order ($5 down payment) you will only get a 1-day early access code. You can always cancel pre-purchase/pre-orders before a game is released for a full refund at almost all the stores. If you wait after the release, then you're out of luck. How does physical Pre-Purchase work? Physical Pre-Purchase for Guild Wars 2 is only available at select retailers. The details of how this will work will differ slightly depending on which edition customers purchase and where they purchase it. Standard Edition (North America)—Customers will buy the Standard Edition Pre-Purchase box and receive a Pre-Purchase serial code. They will then go to https://register.guildwars2.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Guild Wars 2 account and apply the serial code, which will give them access to Beta Weekend Events, the Hero's Band digital item, and three-day Headstart Access to the final game. When Guild Wars 2 launches, customers will need to return to the retailer with proof of purchase to receive the full Standard Edition box and retail serial code. They will need to apply this retail serial code to their Guild Wars 2 account within five days to continue playing without interruption. Standard Edition (Europe)—Customers will buy the Standard Edition Pre-Purchase box and receive their serial code. This is the only serial code customers will receive and will grant access to the Beta Weekend Events, three-day Headstart Access, the Hero's Band digital item, and full access to the final live game. Customers will not need to return to retail to receive another serial code. Collector's Edition (North America and Europe)—Customers will buy the Collector's Edition Pre-Purchase box and receive a Pre-Purchase serial code. They will then go to https://register.guildwars2.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Guild Wars 2 account and apply the serial code, which will give them access to Beta Weekend Events and three-day Headstart Access to the final game. When Guild Wars 2 launches, customers will need to return to their retailer with proof of purchase to receive the full Collector's Edition box with physical items and retail serial code. They will need to apply this retail serial code to their Guild Wars 2 account within five days to continue playing without interruption. WhenKittensATK Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Mike O’Brien on Microtransactions in Guild Wars 2 Microtransaction integrated into the game, not an afterthought. Time-saving convenience items. Items that provide visual distinction. No need to buy additional purchases to enjoy the game. No unfair advantages for money spenders vs non-spenders. In-game currency (gold) and microtransaction tokens (gems) will be tradable.
ClayMeow Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Read that earlier. The last bullet point is basically what Spiral Knights has.

WhenKittensATK Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 (edited) Mystery page: https://buy.guildwars2.com/combo Could it be some kind of GW1 + GW2 dual pack or perhaps a GW2 + discounted micro-transaction gems. ArenaNet sent out all the beta keys for this weekend, so if you didn't get one you won't be in it Edited March 22, 2012 by AZNguyen
WhenKittensATK Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) Steam won't be part of pre-purchase, but maybe it will be there at release? Game devs are always steering clear on talk of Steam availability. Makes me thing it won't be in the picture at all. Pre-purchase = guarantee acess to all beta events, 3 day headstart and hero's band ============ List of retail stores for pre-purchase (Worldwide list) UK Amazon HMV Zavvi - CE Shopto.net Play.com USA GameStop - CE Amazon Best Buy Edited March 27, 2012 by AZNguyen

Stonerboy779 Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Did you click the link? Nope, fairly lousy list tho. Need to add game, jnhifi and if you give it a little while longer Harvey Norman, Dick Smith and ozgameshop will all have it for preorder with ozgameshop being around $50 and all the others $90 for pre-order with CE being available from eb, game, jnhifi and probably available from all the others maybe not ozgameshop but I hope it is. WhenKittensATK Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 (edited) That's the official list of retailers who will offer Pre-purchase, not the same thing as pre-order. Pre-order = only the game. Pre-purchase = guarantee acess to all beta events, 3 day headstart and hero's band Edited March 28, 2012 by AZNguyen
XtremeDS Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 (edited) At least here in Portugal, there is going to be one retail shop selling the pre-purchase. I hope I can get it at 10 April or the week after it. Edited March 28, 2012 by XtremeDS
