HeyYoWL Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 So I have the most up to date firmware and I tried using Intel Toolbox to optimize too, no dice. Still same thing..
El_Capitan Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Probably a bad SSD. I'd give Intel an e-mail for an RMA request.
HeyYoWL Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Probably a bad SSD. I'd give Intel an e-mail for an RMA request. But benchmarks show that it's great and speeds are fine?
Waco Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 It's got to be something we're overlooking.
HeyYoWL Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Does dual-booting cause this sorta problem? It's my first time dual-booting since I got an SSD and maybe GUID isn't playing nice with MBR?
Stonerboy779 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Have you checked msconfig to see if you have any additional programs opening up?
Waco Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Dual booting shouldn't cause any issues.
HeyYoWL Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Nothing new. I have less programs starting up now than before...
kuri Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I wonder if there is any log/trace you can check or enable to see what (if anything) is loading during that 3-5 seconds...
ericgcollyer Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I have a 520 and it is usually pretty instant to login. although they are slower than I thought they should be. But only in benchmarks and not boot time.
HeyYoWL Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I have a 520 and it is usually pretty instant to login. although they are slower than I thought they should be. But only in benchmarks and not boot time. Really? So it shows the desktop pretty much instantly? I've tried all manner of things and I really would prefer not to format again if I can help it. Have you ever had this problem at all? My benchmark scores are fine so it's not a connection or SATA controller issue...
