It's Monday morning, which means it is time for another weekly poll. With Google releasing two new programs last week (Desktop Search 2.0 and Google Talk), I thought I might run this week's poll about one of them. But, considering we already have forum topics about those programs, I decided to pass on that idea.

Though, Google has always been a popular subject for the polls, so I'll stay on that thought this week. wink.gif As we're all well aware, Google has moved well beyond just web search. Their services now include blogging, news, IM, maps, directions, and more.

As asked in the title, Which Google Product Do You Like Best? I'd like to keep just "plain ole search" out of this poll if possible. wink.gif I did throw in an "other" option, just in case I missed something.

------------------------------

For me, I'd really have to say Picasa. It works well and make finding and organizing my images fast and simple. It's just something I could not do with Windows. Picasa also has a few image manipulation tools that come in handy, and IMO are easier to use than doing the same thing in Photoshop (or similar program).

GDS2 is also pretty nice, but needs some "more" before it'll be number one for me. - That is at least where the "sidebar" comes into play. Personally, I'd like to see it go away from being just a sidebar. I'd like the ability to move various aspects of the sidebar around on my screen (Konfib, DesktopX, Kapsules, etc.). I'd also like the ability to increase the font size.... reading GDS2's text @ 1600x1200 is a real PITA. Skins/themes would also be a nice addition. What's a program without the ability to skin or theme it?

Well, that's enough on that. Which Google Product Do You Like Best?

*sigh*

I guess it was just to hard of a request, or maybe to much to ask. sad.gif The poll is not asking what you use most. Of course most people are going to use the search the most.

Sorry D3, I missed that. tongue.gif

I still would vote "other", though, because the search is the product I like best, not just because I use it most.

I use Picassa a little but it falls short on some basic things like image resizing. I also don't like that it makes a little thumbnails file that it sticks in my image folders. There are a number of free photo progs that have more features than Picassa. I will conceed that it is easy to grasp.

I have tried a number of things like web accelerator, gmail drive, etc...and found them to be mostly of little use to me.

I actually am an "owner" of a Google Group, I used Google because I hate MSN (really buggy) and Yahoo is a pain, (slow and annoying to use) but it's got almost no features and hasn't been improved since I started it.

I've got 2 Gmail accts which are OK, and I like that features keep getting added, so that would be my second choice. But as free emails go it doesn't live up to the hype IMHO.

Just my 2¢

Google News is pretty nice as well, especially since you can customize what it displays. wink.gif I have PSP, World of Warcraft, Linux, and some other stuff on my custom Google News page.

CODE
Link for my version of Google News... won't work in a URL box for some reason....

Only problem I have with Google News is they don't index/link to everything. Even though I have an "OverclockersClub" section on there, it doesn't show all news from OCC. Same for /. and the other items I have.
