I noticed they've been introducing homo actors from other homo series lately. I think that the writers sold out or something. Atlantis doesn't suck so much lately tho.

Yes. RDA is leaving to spend time with his daughter. IIRC tonight's episode (#3) will be the last time we see O'Neal for awhile.

Amanda Tapping, who played Carter is also leaving the show to have a child. This is why she has "moved" to Area 51 in order to head up the R&D there. It's possible that she may come back at a later time, but doubtful.

This is why they announced at the end of last season that SG-1 would have a new team. Personally, I think it's time the did some more with it. While I like RDA and Amanda Tapping, I thought the SG-1 series was getting a bit stale.

The new commander reminds me a lot of O'Neal, and the chick (forget her name) adds the comic relief.

The first two episodes weren't anything grand but I don't think they were bad. I'd expect things to pick up more as the season continues.

So far episodes 1-3 have been tied together. Personally, I'd like to see the entire season continue along that path. Similar to how BSG (for the most part) and 24 are done; I think that makes it more entertaining and can really extend the life of a series.

Now, if you want a show that I'm waiting for them to cancel... that'd be Stargate: Atlantis. Unless they really do something with it, I think that show is going to sink (pardon the pun). The only reason I still watch it is because there is nothing else on between SG-1 and BSG. ;)

Im thinkin the stargate atlantis series is an attempt to keep the show alive. Amanda tapping had a kid or something, and the characters overall are ageing. I think the whole Time travel thing and the corny characters are just attempts to squeeze water out of a stone...If I was the writer for that show I would have killed off the gould long ago and introduced some other bad guy, the idea of the replicators was just stupid...mainly their orgin.. blah... im ranting...

EDIT: D3 beat me to it, Stargate atlantis is getting better then SG1 I believe, Its lame that they featured characters from farscape in the last episodes of SG1. Incase your wondering Farscape is a corny show with bad writing where the characters have . at least 5 times ever episode and the rest is so stupid I would rather fornicate with my remote then watch it.

From time to time I'll post my thoughts of "SciFi Friday" on my personal site. I don't do it all the time, just whenever I feel like rambling about the shows.

More of my thoughts on the 1st episode of SG-1, SG:Atlantis, and BSG can be found here if anyone wants to read it. ;)

@Coolzero101: I still think SG-1 is better than SG-A. Reread my post. :P

I couldn't stand Farscape. Half of one episode was all it took for me to see that. ;) Though, I don't think it's fair to the actors to judge them based on past performances.... just because Farscape sucked, doesn't necessarily mean that with them being on SG-1 it will suck (so far, I've enjoyed them).

Enterprise was canceled because it couldn't get ratings. :P The cast was stiff, most of the episodes were boring, and for the most part, people were burned out on Star Trek. Like many cast members from the other Star Trek franchises have come out and said, the world needs a break from Star Trek. Put it in stasis for a few years, and then bring it back.

Anyway, going back to Stargate and getting back on topic. I can't help but get the feeling that we may see another Stargate spin off sometime in the future (probably a year or two). This one dealing with either the Prometheus or that other ship... you hear (or see) both of them from time to time on SG-1 and Atlantis. I think they are trying to build something up with that.

---

Also, has anyone seen Firefly? I don't know if that show is going to make it or not.

SG1 is still great. SG Atlantis is ok. But BSG has just been aweful since the day that they created it! Last episode was the first exciting one where the Sions (can't spell it) actually did something. But even then, it kept going back into drama mode. :angry2:

Someone is asking for a ban with such Blasphmy! BSG is the best SciFi series in a looong time!

Actually, you are probably the first person I've ever heard that has said they didn't like the new BSG. I'm a huge fan of the old series, and love the new one even more.
