This is a quick guide for anyone who wants to use the XFire protocol (xfire:) with Opera. I didn't feel it was necessary to make an "official OCC guide" for this, since the process is pretty straight forward and easy.
I know assuming is a bad thing to do here, but for the sake of simplicity I'm going to assume you have Opera and XFire installed and running.
The XFire protocol is mainly used for the new XFire File Center. Here you'll find game patches and demos without the lines of Fileplanet and other services.
For this guide, I'm using Opera 8.0 Beta 2. Things may change slightly between beta and final so check your documentation or ask if you have any questions.
Open Opera's Options
The first thing that needs to be done is to open up Opera's preferences. Ctrl + F12 or Tools > Preferences can get you there.

Programs & Paths
With the preferences open, choose the Programs & Paths option.

Add The XFire Protocol
Now that we are at the Program & Paths settings click "Add" in the protocols section. In the dialog box that appears, enter xfire for the protocol and in the box for Open with other application enter (or browse) to the full location of xfire.exe on your system. In my example the location is d:\xfire\xfire.exe.

You should now have an entry that looks something like what's pictured below.

Close the preferences window and you should now be able to use the XFire protocol.

Just a reminder. OCC Members can put their XFire user name in their profile to make it easier for other members to find you.
