So, what do you think about the new (final) version of GDS? How are the plugins?

what's not safe about it? I just haven't found a massive need for local desktop searching. As long as it doesn't connect to the net and send out info, what's the threat?

There was a security issue with GDS while it was in early beta... the problem was fixed soon after it was reported.
GDS makes searching for MP3s, email, and everything else much easier. With the added support for searching through mIRC and Trillian logs now things are even better.
It's far superior to Start > Find > Files or Folders. I just wish it would do a network search... most of my music is on another system.

even if i downloaded it i wouldn't use it that often. I'm pretty picky about everything being somewhere where i told it to be, i'm a control freak when it comes to my computer.

I just wish it would index all files... I used to have a stringent system for my computer, but an accidental hard drive wipe and subsequential partial recovery of the data completely screwed it up. I've kinda lost any sort of order with my files so until I can get it all straitened up, anything to help me find what I need is generally a good thing.
