Google has released a new version of GDS. I'm at work, so can't try it out just yet, but the new sidebar looks pretty cool. There is even a SystemMonitor plugin for it.

I Just downloaded it, its pretty cool.
I never used the 1st one so i cant really say if its much different. Shame it only does the US weather. The Gmail things cool and it shows current history which again is cool, And then the little slideshow of pictures which is cool Its cool

the fist thing i did with it is kill the rss/atom feeds and put in /. and occ
