Got a new Asus P4B266:
Put DDR memory and Intel 2.40a Ghz processor, plugged in ATX 12v for it and even the EZ-Plug. I get no POST, no BIOS, no display. I get power, all fans and lights come on. By the way, it's got a new case w/400w power supply. I figured that all I need to test the board is to put the memory, CPU and video card (MSI Ti4400 AGP 4x 1.5v) to start so that all stuff works. When I activate the Voice POST thru the speech jumper, I get an unintelligible voice saying nothing that's in the manual under Voice POST errors. Help me!!!! I know once this system is together it'll be a good system but I'm really perplexed! I've done this before but never had a problem like this with something stupid like the case shorting the board or plugs not seated correctly or some simple thing like that. Thanks all! |

How do you know that it isn't posting if you don't have video?
I'd check all your cables and make sure everything is connected correctly. Double check the CPU and Memory as well as cards to make sure they are all the way in. -------------------- |

Video card is plugged in, and it flickers, but no on-screen POST. I used different monitors also.
The card is seated, the memory is secure in the slot, and so is the CPU. I still get nothing. |

Take everything out.. any beeps? Then add the CPU... Then memory.. then vid card/HDD...
Try the video card in another PC. Try the CPU and RAM in another PC. No video doesn't mean no POST. Most motherboards on first boot go directly into the BIOS. -------------------- |

WHen i had the P4b266 the first time i misplaced the led connectors, liek the power,hd, reset cables. It would most likely be the problem.

Yeah I did the exact same thing as NYC and I have a P4B266 motherboard. I would definitely check your case to motherboard cables and definitely rewire them becasue you may screw up the first time around.
