Graciously recommended from KB, is some muffricken Christian death metal. It is a must hear, it pushes envelopes, explores new ground. Words can't describe just now incredibly awesome this is. Cue the alter smashing, bench flipping, and bible reading while thrashing away at guitars and drums.

I can knit, too.

Among the first applications slated for Blue Gene is to use its massive computing power to model the folding of human proteins. Studying the way proteins fold gives researchers better understanding of diseases and potential cures.

If you'd like to use your own home computer to do some protein folding, you can join the other million-or-so people world-wide already doing it. Just log on to http://folding.stanford.edu to join the online protein-folding project called Folding@Home.
