Good choice on the 770...I'm sweating enough bullets worrying about my soon to arrive 30" 2560x1600 monitor and what it will do to my 7970 so you made the right choice getting the 770 over the 580.

 

As for the PSU, you should be ok I think.

Total System power use using Anandtech's testing platform with a GTX 770 is ~310w.  That's using an i7-4960X as the CPU.  In other words your PSU would have to be having a pretty bad day to not be able to run a GTX 770 and a Q6600, you just might need an adapter to properly hook up the 8 pin cable though most GTX 770s come with one.

I don't think it will hold it back much if at all

 

If i have anything to go by, a phenom x4 @3.8ghz was bottlenecking my 4890 back in the day lol.

That is why i am a bit concerned.

I just cannot believe that to be true lol

 

My friend has an E8400 @4.06ghz and his 660Ti isn't being held back at all.
