For those of us that don't prefer cereal to start our days yet still like a quick breakfast.

I'm just curious as I've seen a wide variety of how people flavor up their oatmeal and grits so I'm curious how you all do it. And that pre flavored crap in a package doesn't count -.-

For me:

Strawberry preserves

or

Brown sugar and raisins in my Oatmeal

Chopped up sausage in ma grits with a pinch of salt and sometimes with a fried egg on top.

Oatmeal with skim milk.

Minnesotans don't eat grits. I have never even seen them in my life.

I am the reason we can't have nice things.

So you're telling me, aside from a little skim milk, you eat your oatmeal plain  At least with flavoring of some sort it's like eating flavored snot, but plain is just disgusting lol.

I like my oats to have the consistency of paste. I add fresh/dried fruits, nuts, peanut butter, chocolate chips, etc.

Oatmeal: Brown sugar or maple syrup.

Grits: Sugar, or maple syrup, or cheese, or butter. I also put them over scrambled eggs and eat them plain with some salt. :)

+1  Always liked it "paste" like. My dad would tease me that I was eating glue or that we could put tiles up with it...

Oatmeal with fresh or frozen fruit, cinnamon, half & half or milk.

I don't do woodworking any more so I don't worry about different kinds of grits
