Do the two cards have to be exactly alike for example could I cross fire a 7770 with a 7950 and still get a turbo boost? Does the brand have to be the same?

Really wish I could experience an SSD but of course my bank tells me that I can not.

It won't work, it has to be the same family. A 7750 and 7770 can CF and a 7950 and 7970 can crossfire but you're wasting money
