Tom Clancy has passed away at age 66.

Doesn't seem like they released a cause yet.

If you don't know who Tom Clancy is... please don't procreate.

RIP. Sad that such a literary genius had to die so young.

What a shame. And at such a young age. He sure has contributed to newer literature.

RIP

He hasn't just contributed to literature, he has contributed to entertainment in general - the movies and video games based upon his books are some of the best there are. Hopefully the new Jack Ryan movie and upcoming Rainbow Six game do him proud.

Oh man, Tom Clancy was one of the pioneers of military fiction. An absolutely insane amount of works, and like Clay mention, video games and movies. The man co-founded Red Storm Entertainment, which made the likes of Rainbow Six (Raven Shield was awesome until Ubisoft futzed around with it too much) and Ghost Recon.

Such a sad day for for fans of his work.

I loved his earlier works, but lost interest with his later ghostwritten ones.

Never read his books but I remember the first "Tom Clancy" game I played as a kid was SSN (submarine warfare game) and it KICKED ASS. RIP T.C.!
