Hey Ward.  Here's a bump.  Sorry to hear about your circumstances :(

Any particular reason you're not willing to ship?  That may help open the market up for you.  Just a thought.

IDK how it would work, but I tutor pretty much every class at my college. I would be willing to help if you want.

comp ed is right up your way,...but hey i've been driving for a living for a couple of years now, so what company are you going to train with way down in texas ?...when you say you're forced to go trucking does that mean you're a prisoner and someone has a gun to your head and your life is in jeopardy ?....should we be calling the fbi ?

btw....if you meet the qualifications, cr england with buss or fly you to salt lake city, put you up in their own hotel, train you, and send you out trucking, on their dime, (well the training experience comes out to about $2500 but you don't pay if you go to work for them for a couple of years)  and well,  all you'll need pay for is groceries/meals and any extra's you may want,....they'll even give you a job after you're finished training...

just saying...

I've already got everything worked out with FFE Transportation. It's a good company from what my father says ( an OTR driver himself ). They pay for schooling and you get paid while in school plus they only ask for a 1-yr commitment in return. Avg 3k mi/week and they run 100% legal so no worrying about having to backup my log book to make loads.

And I say forced because with my history I don't have a whole lot of options. Sadly I didn't start giving a crap about anything much until about 7 years ago so I have a bit of history from over a decade ago that severely limits my options which is why I am going to be getting to school as soon as I can afford to do so and try to get my design engineering degree and hope for the best from there.

Sadly, Ed is 6 hours away from me so not exactly "right up my way".

I know myself too well Tj, I'd have to be in a library or small room with minimal alternate stimuli with the person tutoring me and it would honestly take me probably between 4 and 6 months of tutoring in mathematics before I can comfortably go to college as my math skills are just that bad. I've always been an A+ student in science and history and had I not lived on a farm in 9th and 10th grade I could have easily taken AP sciences but math is the bane of my existence.

I here ya. I went from the 7th grade where I took algebra right into college where I was forced to take calculus. So I skipped trig and algebra 2.

Whats worse is that I also skipped the 5th and 6th grade.

So I was right about to learn about logarithmic equations before I was thrown into a class where I had to do logarithmic functions and then put in a class where I had to take the 5th integral of a logarithmic function with tangent graphs and all of that fun stuff.

Believe me, it was just me a google that semester curled up in the fetal position going OH crap.

I still barely understand trig at all and I am in multi variant calculus. So I get what you mean when you say that math is the bane of your existence........I really do.

Just got the GTX 690 and mobo today so they are up for grabs for what I think is a fair price.

Again, I cannot thank OCC, Dave, CCokeman, Mushkin, Intel, Corsair and Nvidia enough as the money from this stuff is going to help me immensely with getting started in trucking such as seeing a dentist and chiropractor before I leave which is helping loads as I've been needing to do both for years.
