Hi All,

I'm looking for a solid 27' monitor for gaming and other basic windows activities. I'm willing to spend up to $400 if there is a noticeable difference in performance, but if one of the $250~ range monitors is essentially the same thing, then I would prefer to save the money.

What would you all suggest?

Thanks!

If you don't care about absolute precision in terms of color there are a lot of 1080p 27" TN screens for mid $200s.

Thanks. However, are there any noticeable differences between the 250~ ones and the 350-400 ones (other than a sleaker look?

Usually the more expensive ones have an IPS LCD panel which is better for contrast and color.

Get Glossy if your PC room has regulated lighting ( blinds and curtains ). I find the glossy ones offer better viewing angles and more pure blacks over near identical units with matte screens.

Off to ruck driving school. Gonna be AFK mostly till sometime around July or August :)

Intel 3770k (Supplied by Intel), MSI Z77A GD65 (Supplied by ccokeman), NVIDIA GTX 690 (Supplied by NVIDIA), Mushkin Chronos 120GB HDD (Supplied by Mushkin), Dominator Platinum 16GB (Supplied by Corsair), Corsair 600T Case (Supplied by Corsair), Corsair AX860 PSU (Supplied by Corsair), H100i (Supplied by Corsair), Asus DVDRW (Supplied by Bosco)

I am extremely grateful to Bosco, Ccokman, Nvidia, Corsair, Intel and Mushkin as winning the hardware is making my life far easier as it has helped tremendously with the transition from P/T Little Caesars employee to becoming an OTR truck driver. Again, than you all and I will be showing my gratitude this coming Xmas ;)

The panel type would have more of an effect on viewing angles then if the bezel is glossy or not.

Yes but you would only be able to tell from the work you'll be doing on it. If its just gaming and general activities then save the money and get a TN panel.
