Do you all think this PC is worth $400: http://rockford.crai...3678607067.html

A guy offered to trade me that PC for my 2012 MTB that I have about $900 into ( with the 3k miles on it I only put a value of $400 on the bike ).

Do you all think I could resell that PC quickly for $400 or is the value of his PC too close to $400 to be worth the risk of having to try to unload that over my bike?

It looks like his case is an Antec 900 and the HDD is a Seagate and is not an SSD like his ad says, I'm assuming it was a typo in his ad. Also the ram appears to be OCZ Gold DDR3 judging by the pic but I could be wrong but being only a 2x2gb kit I don't think the brand/model matters at all for DDR3.

He did say it has an 802.11n wifi adapter but again, don't know if that matters at all for value. And the optical is just a dvd burner.

Can i get that 1 TB SSD? Haha

Yeah does look like a typo. Now, as to a resell value - i agree with WarWeeny, its not worth 400$...

if you bought that rig used in a PC store you're looking about 200.00...

I can pick those up all day long here for the 200.00 tag and i would NOT trade my bike for it...

Good to know. I didn't want to trade my bike for something else that I'd have to sell anyways but it's a good thing I didn't bite on this trade if I would've lost money reselling the PC.

Advice on the value of the PC and the bike has been given, however, here's something a bit different. Don't trade your bike for a PC, because 99% of the time you'll get an even trade the day of the trade, but the bike will hold its value, but the PC won't.

Best line of the ad:

Low ballers will be ignored. I paid a lot more than $650 for it when I built it

No shit you paid more sherlock, it's called new price vs product with HEAVY depreciated value

By that logic I should get thousands of dollars for the old 486 in my basement...because I'm err... shipping out to Iraq tomorrow :woot:

I'm glad you aren't going for it, I'd be very concerned if you had.

I had considering it but seeing as I haven't been keeping tabs on what used hardware has been going for as of late I needed to be sure. My original guesstimate put the value at around $430 but I guess that was way optimistic and based off of last years values.

I'd say it's worth around 300 bucks but that's only considering the fact that 750W PSU prices are through the roof at the moment.
