i have a new ssd coming in and would like to copy my current boot/os/C: drive to it but i'll be darned if i can see how to create backups in win 8,....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
how to create a clone: C: backup .iso in win 8 ?

Use a cloning program if you can, Last thing I cloned was with a trial Acronis, I don't think you can do that anymore though.

yea, i've got the trial daemon pro but i know the windows disk image is in here someplace,....they hid it well in win8

This method works for cloning, backup, and restore.
1. Install Clonezilla (Free) to a CD or USB
2. Boot into Clonezilla
3. Select Clone System Drive (C:) to SSD
4. Wait for it to finish cloning
5. Reboot and set BIOS to boot to SSD
6. Reformat or do whatever you want with your old hard drive

I believe M$ took out the old system image backup from Windows 7 in Windows 8 for some reason. Windows 8 only has file backups, rather shameful but things like Clonezilla work much faster anyways.
