I was considering buying this monitor;

http://www.newegg.co...N82E16824236052

But I was a little concerned with the odd size - 23.6"

Will the size affect the ratio or resolution at all, opposed to a screen that was an even 23" or 23.5"?

That monitor should be fine for gaming, all manufacturers give a different screen size for some reason but the resolution is 1900 x 1080 so that is high def. Just remember that most built in speakers sound like crap.

I'd go with a Hanns-G monitor TBH, ASUS support has been slipping lately so if anything does go wrong you might want another company that will have your back better than ASUS has been doing as of late.
